Would You Be interested in Running a Historic GT Series
Upcoming Events For Sundays
As you have seen and been a part of some testing some new mods. I'm sorry if I have caused some confusion putting to much up at once. Sundays has run TCL pretty much consistently for the past two years. We have done just about every major series over the past few years and it was suggested we try something different for a series in between the TCL AtCC series
So first we have an Enduro on Sunday, August 12, 2012 using Sport Prototypes le v2.2

After This we need to look what series we would like to do. I would like to put up as a suggestion Historic GT and Touring Cars 1.9 I know we have run a series in the past using this mod but I believe with not enough car selection available. This is a fantastic mod and I have it up and running on a practice server at the moment and would encourage members to have a go and leave some feedback. The one Downside to this mod is that it is a 3gig Download but I would be happy to send out DVD's to anyone that would have difficulties downloading this size.
For Those that want to download the mod it is available here

Part Two

Anyone Wanting a DVD PM me your address and I'll send it out to you.
My suggestion would be to run a series using mainly American Muscle Cars for a series incorporating a series of American tracks that on Sunday we haven't really ventured to in the past. Tracks Like Road America, Watkins Glen Long, Laguna Seca, Mid Ohio etc.
I have put a simple vote up the top yes or no if this series would interest you guys and if yes we can plan further.
Here is a sample of some of the cars I was thinking that would create a pretty cool series.

Re: Upcoming Events For Sundays
I was having trouble getting it to work last night It kept crashing, I will try again tonight and see how it goes,, What tracks were being floated as a potential series ?
I'd be pretty keen to run on sundays if this goes ahead, Im pretty sure Gutless would be too as every saturday he seems to have internet issues... I reckon that Pisstank and Nuckin would be keen as well one of their fav era's of cars...

i'm keen as mustard for historix. not a big fan of the early 60's cars but, there a bit slow and handle worse than the titanic. personally i love the
gttc B1 and B2 class cars such as the escorts, capri's and 911's etc. the american muscle cars are awesome too but i'm not sure if they will be everyone's cup of tea

Ive tried a few of the cars you have listed, some are easier than other's all the sounds are great except a weird noise i'm getting on gear changes ? like a scrubing noise ?
it's really anoying.
I Love the mod but some of the cars may need alot of prac to get good in... I'm up for the challenge thou..

Re: Upcoming Events For Sundays
That is the grinding mod that is available. You can turn it off in the upgrades menu of the car you're running.
If you are using a 3 pedal system (G25/27 etc) then use the clutch and it gets rid of it lol.

Re: Upcoming Events For Sundays
yea I tired all of the settings. and to get rid of it I need to drive the car Very slow slower than you would drive them on a sunday and hold the clutch in for ages like the rev's drop back to nothing it's like the noise is out of sync with the gear changes ?
Ive tried auto clutch on and off, all 3 of the upgrades in the car menu

Re: Upcoming Events For Sundays
Personally, I dont think the high powered, slick tyred cars are the way to go. As fun as it is to blast around in a car that's got a stupid amount on HP, it probably wouldnt be the easiest way to ease into the mod.
It would probably be easier to either run a trans-am series, with the big banger yank V8s that a couple of us tried tonight or a multi class series, something like the 60's Alfa, Abarth, Cortina, Mustang, Falcon, Jag Mk2 and in another class, the next step up in terms of cars... Probs the e-type, 250GTO, Shelby GT350, AC Cobra etc etc.
My $2.20c anyway... :-D

Re: Upcoming Events For Sundays
I found the Alfa, Cortina & the BMW CS fairly easy to drive.
I Love this mod but also have to agree with mozza a little bit I think car and track choices will be key to a good series.
that dam grinding noise is still there no matter what setting I choose..
I had a bit of fun with mozza last night racing door to door that alfa flew across the top of the mountain.
I'd be keen to put in the time to drive these well but only concerned that other people wont.
also the older version I raced in a series had "Auto Blip" to simulate heel toe it made the cars a fair bit easier to drive, Not for the purest but it gave drivers of all levels a chance to drive most of the cars the new upgrades dont seem to do this as effectivly or maybe my copy is not working properly.

Lol I know a Bloke like this
I have a mate that has two great bikes (sports and cruiser) and is a top bloke to go to the footy or pub with is a real Mans man, A few years ago he got into bikes but OMG he gets on the bikes now and instintly needs a latte I flat out refuse to ride with him anymore. I much prefer to head out to across to broadford down to strathcreek, Flowerdale, King Lake etc and ride not worry about what cafe might give me a good feed (admittedly have more than enough in built in food storage to not worry food for a while) where everytime I go out with him the ride MUST revolve around a coffee shop here or Coffee Shop there he spends more time taking there gear off to head in for a coffee than he does riding

Re: Upcoming Events For Sundays
There is a patch (and possibly new cars) coming out soon. One thing they are looking at is to even up the Trans-ams.
We have organised quite a few Historix leagues here at KSR so have had a bit of experience with these.
Personally I think to keep things even you only select a few cars. The factory Pantera (The one with the wings) is easy to drive fast but is comparable to the 3.1 Capri and Porsche 3.0 RS.
With the Trans Ams, there are a few cars that are rather quick (Where the Mustang is slow).
In the lower class the Escort is great to drive, and is competitive with the privateer Pantera…although the TransAm Alfa might give it a run for its money (In fact the Alfa and Barracuda are a good match around Mosport!).
To have an even class of cars there would have to be some testing.

BENNY ignore mozza and dont listen to pete... I have not painted the fatty PINK LMAO.
maybe just run all the cars but cant run the same car twice... so a different car every round from each driver.. and for final round can choose your favorite car over the series to compete in final race in....
just my 2.30 cents worth lol

Since i installed Historx v1.9 the other day, my steering has turned to shit. Cars are nearly undriveable. Very light and very, very direct at the straight ahead, but the feedback loads up massively as I wind on more lock.

Re: Upcoming Events For Sundays
it uses real feel david... you can delete the plugins if you like also... in the manual for the game is a massive thing on setting up wheel for this mod....
is worth reading first....
and can just not pick reelfeel in upgrades for the car also... but when wheel is set up how they say to do it works a treat...

Re: Upcoming Events For Sundays
a Trans-Am type series could be good. We could run both the O2L and U2L cars, and have x3 fuel and x3 tyres which could enable the Alfa's & Cortina's to have a chance against the Mustang's, Camaro's and Javelin's etc..

Re: Upcoming Events For Sundays
With The Historics Server Guys have put mid ohio and Kylami one as well to test some other tracks. I will Leave it up to Sunday Morning at which point I'll switch over to GT3 so we can confirm if these enduros are a goer. Ufortunatelly The GT3 I can't get to run at the same time off the home server. I might be able to look at putting it on the Tuesday server untill Monday and practice DRM at home but have a heap on tonight so difficult to do tonight.

Sorry I couldn't help it with all the talk was hard for me to deface as Fatboy is my all time favorate bike I'm trying to put cash away for one at the moment. I Sold my bike when we bought new house last year (now only have the dirt bike) just so we could get bits and pieces we needed when we moved in. The deal with the wife was I could then go and get a bike I want 6 months after moving in once things settle down. Apparently that conversation didn't happen temped to just bring the repayment book home and hand it over

Re: Upcoming Events For Sundays
Sport Prototypes LE has identical physics and sounds for every car, which is OK for online play, but offline i want realism all the way. I have most of the models in GT_All, but it only has one or two skins in each model. So I thought I'd copy the skins across from Sport Prototypes LE to GT_All.
Now done and adjusted the HDV, sounds, classes and categories in each VEH file, but strangely, most cars appear with the same skin as the GT_All car of the same model. I changed the default livery value in the VEH file, but to no avail. I am now quite stumped......

I think i figured it out, there were some loose files in the Sport Prototypes LE sub folders, I copied them across to GT_All, and the copied cars now appear to have their correct skins.
