Post F1 Bathurst
As most know I'm not a fan of open wheeler I'm just no good at it, Can't come to grips with the braking capabilities or the down force through the corners
But as I was leading the series jumped on early to make sure I got some practice as I knew Squeeekmo had run the F1 series and would be so much quicker than I so wanted to at least keep the position gap close.
Started as expected a few laps around the 1m55's got a bit worried when kiwispec's first flying lap was a 1m45. Kept plodding along found an old setup from webber and de aliened a bit so I could drive and suddenly the car was a jet over the top of the mountain. Now I just needed to learn how to drive it. Got down into the 48's pretty quickly after this and throughout practice pushed all the way down to a 1m45.127. But the Surprising part was how hard I could push and how much I was enjoying it.
Qual didn't go as well tried a little to less down force and pushed to hard and only managed a 1m46.3. Iceman was on fire punching out a very low 1m42 would have loved to have seen a Webber and Iceman show off hear I think it would have been darn close. Was happy with fourth had a big time margin to all the cars behind me and Squeeekmo was unfortunately not there.
Race one got a shocking start (actually did in all the races) come up behind Billy Bob around the end of lap one and we had great battle for about 5 laps. I had gone cautious and put too much down force back on and I had no answer for bob in a straight line. As I was following Bob pushing hard as I could I was thinking Gee Bob found some speed in warmup I thought I had a comfortable 2 sec a lap gap in practice and warmup. I made a little mistake out of the chase and lost a bit of ground to billy bob. so pushed hard to close the gap and was but punching out a couple of low 46's was not closing the gap as much as I thought it would. I came around the turn two to find a spinning bob and I had nowhere to go unfortunately and full head on impact. (luckily we had decided low damage everyone would finish) From here I was able to brake away from Billy bob and bring the car home in fourth. After the Race I apologised to billy for nailing him during his spin only to find out it was Dan driving. I was pretty happy to have pushed Dan so much during the race I know he probably did zero practice and jumped on just for the race but any time I can take to someone of his standard got to be happy.
Race 2
As Above start a shocker again. Coming though the field had again had a great battle with the real billy bob this time as well as dano. EAO Killer was able to get through quicker and made and had pretty much secured second in the first couple of laps while Ice man was making as all look pretty ordinary with his outstanding speed and consistency. I had a bit more of a on eventful race after making it past billy bob and cruised home in third
Race 3
By the time race 3 started I was stuffed and as per other races had to wait a lap or so before I had enough tyre temp to push hard. Once tyre temp was up I found myself in third around the 2 second mark from killer. We had two completely different car setups mine was so much quicker over the top but his was so much quicker in a straight line. We both pretty much ran 45's with the gap closing to nothing by forest elbow but back at the 2.7 second mark coming out of turn two. Although we never raced wheel to wheel was a great mental battle all race long I stuffed up last lap ran wide just before Skyline pushing at over 260klms through mcphillamy couldn't quite keep it on the track. Brought the car home in Third again
Last night was so Tuff haven't sweated that much during races specially only 3 x 15min stints in ages and I think it was about 6 deg at the time. I actually had a ball last night and spewing I didn't really put the time in when the F1 series was on.
Great Series Dano thanks so much for your hard work putting it together. And Allthough the numbers weren't great though out the series I though ally enjoyed every single race. The high light being the return to AE86 Jerez (best mod to track match Ever) for a round but closely followed by DRM and even gallardo's
First Championship win in a while pretty Stoked

Congrats Benny, Thanks yeah I still enjoyed running the series, even if the turnouts weren't great, the company definitely was!
Good call lowering the damage. I agree about the AE86s at Jerez, that really was fun once you got the flow of the track. I've got a couple of other tracks in mind which are similar to Jerez and should make up quite a good AE86 series in the near future. e.g. Mosport and Seven Hills.
DRM is next!!!!! Info coming real soon.

I just left the Celica in the rain that clean it enough
just checked the front of the Bonnet already rusted out
Looking foward to getting the Toyota dialed in it teased me at imola with great speed at times but the just couldn't quite get the rear where I needed it to be to push 100 percent

Ha ha you might need to upgrade from the 320 to the M1 Growler!
The tracks for next tuesday aren't exactly going to favour the 320. Although it'll be very impressive if you can do well in it.
