Would You Be interested in Running in this event
Saturday v Sunday League Enduro Race
Hey Guys
I would like to put this one out to see If this is something that would interest people. The idea is getting all of our Saturday and Sunday racers together for two enduros. 1st Race being held on a Saturday Night the second on a Sunday night more than likely not on the same weekend. The Races would be open to all TCL Vehicles as well as ORSM Unleashed V8 Supercars and would be held at Sandown and Bathurst. There would be Classes on the night based on vehicle performance so The TCL runners don't have to pick a sierra to have a shot at the win.
Ok first look at the above vehicles and like most you would think TCL vehicles would get creamed but not necessarily A little While ago Webber and myself tested TCL v V8 Supercars at Bathurst. For the V8's We set the tyre and Fuel use up high and made the 75 litre tank and soft tyres only. This meant the V8's had to stop every 7 laps I think it was. Now My times Over this period vs Webber in the sierra I believe Webber would have beaten me over a two hour race in the sierra. With the bigger tank and harder tyres it would have to stop far less. But Saying this If you put Webber in the V8 Supercar as well as the Sierra The V8 would have won. I do still think that a TCL Vehicle is still a good chance for an outright win as not all of us have the speed of webber.
As Much we wanted to make it a outright win race and we did test extensively, we came to the conclusion we can't get it to be dead even between the two mods even with weight so the night would be Class based.
If there was enough interest we could possibly look at making sure the two races are done within a calendar month and up the server to 40+slots and have nice big fields for the nights. (I would need help with costs to do this)
Ok so if this is something you would be interested in let us know here up the top secondarily would you depending on dates be looking at running both nights (different Weekends) or only be able to make one of the nights.

What about running the GT3 class instead?

Re: Saturday v Sunday League Enduro Race
GT3 is still on the cards for a series but we have had a couple of server issues with it.
Most of the saturday and Sunday guys have run these cars pretty much every weekend for well over a year so in this particalar case the idea was to put the cars we know so well against each other.

It's core Saturday night racing (v8unleashed) vs core Sunday night racing (TCL). There's probably a case for a gt3 enduro some time but this is more about the two core nights.
Edit: Yeah what Benny said!

as proven so far this series the sierras have not won everything.. twr merc and skyline have all had wins?????
so i think sierra should be included... some drivers use it out of history and the meaning of the car... and most drivers can win no matter wat they in anyway...but whicever way it goes im in anyways

At Bathurst though Shano, it's been proven that no matter how hard you wring the neck of a Merc, you wont get close to a sierra, regardless of fuel or tyre wear.
However, if multiclasses are being bought in, I'll be wheeling out the trusty Merc again
With regard to the V8's, I'm not sure I'd run them, but yeh. I have had mixed feelings about them lately.

Sierra's are available what I meant was that we would work out TCL classes eg: merc bmw in a class, Maybe TWR sierra in a class (just samples not exactly as it would be)

Mozza I remember from testing that with the fuel cranked up where it will be, the Merc was still at a slight disadvantage but not a huge one due to number of pitstops required.
It will be like Le Mans with frequent pitting and courteous driving around lots of cars, trying to avoid doing a McNish from last year!!

The supertourers one can match the real life series, including hotswaps - but with yesterdays attendance I don't know if there will be much demand.

We are testing for an event or series of events and we will announce the concept if we think it is a go.
Last nights light attendance was probably due to my track choice and people having other commitments, not necessarily the mod.

Yea Me, Nukin, Sublime, Gutless & Pisstank were all having drinks for gutless's Bday.. We all thought better not to run at all then the cause issues..
Both NZ & V8's have had strong showings every week, As Kiwi said I think alot of people love the mod.

I guess my main concern would be the v8 guys giving enough respect to those who choose to run the mercs/m3s etc. Particularly when lapping them.

To be fair, how could anyone respect someone driving a merc?
Please try and be realistic Mozza.

Re: Saturday v Sunday League Enduro Race
We would definately need a Practice possibly where everyone wanting to race must attend to get use to the speed difference as it would be pretty huge. The V8 drivers would have to be extremely carefull making passes with the speed diference at the end of the straights. But also even though it is a race the slower cars would have to be aware of the faster cars. I have run in a couple GT1 v GT2 as the slow car and everyone was pretty respectfull and it worked fine.

Re: Saturday v Sunday League Enduro Race
Historic gt and tcl don't Mix very well combined in the same install so not for this race. There are plugin and real feel issues
Did some testing last night at sandown with berlsy Moz and Peter. We took the tyre wear up to 5x to see if it would included the Group 2 cars in the mix. Berlsy filled up the VLTWR put the very hards on while I add 254kg to the V8 Supercar softs only and the 75 litre tank.
I was able to only complete 8 laps between stops for fuel and tyres. Berlsy was able to complete 22 laps without a stop and my 3 third stop is lap 24 which made us pretty close over my 3 stops his one. This was around a half hour run so should work out well over the 2 hour period.
Berlsy lapped around the mid 14''s to high 15's though out the run while I was able to punch out a couple of 1m09 but unless I run around the high 10's to early 11's the tyres didn't make the distance between fuel stops. The stint I pushed the the car the whole way I actually blew the tyre at the end of the back straight on the lap I was meant to pit.
The Sierras I guess are going to be a little quicker again so going to be really interesting to see which mod wins on the night.
Mozza Run the BMW it is good for 23 laps and times aren't that far away with 15's and 16's. I don't think any of the group 2 cars would probably be in a shot for outright win on these fast tracks but I'm sure they are will suprise a few as this big cars with weight and high tyre wear over two hours going to be pretty epic.
Thanks for the help last night guys I think after the run sandown is actually better suited than bathurst for a close finish.

Re: Saturday v Sunday League Enduro Race
Did some Maths with stops and lap times for the three vehicles at Sandown
Projected Finish Based on the Sierra getting similar amount of laps to the Vl which corty was able to do the other night at Townsville.
After a Two Hour Race I have
1st V8 Supercar (Problem with this is that the lead car crosses the line with a second to go the V8 Supercar will have to stop again to make last lap to short shift majorly last stint to make it adding an additional 35's to the total time)
2nd Sierra 8 sec's Behind
3rd Vl TWR 1m44 sec's From First
4th BMW 3m 20 sec's From First
Also Take into consideration I can generally look after tyres in V8's as good as anyone and I was down to 2 red dots all four wheels at the end of each stint. Berlsy has also proved to drag great life out of tyres in the big old Commodores so don't count the small cars out completely
Updated due to Error

sandown yeah my race times are around the high 6's low 7's but with 254 kg i reckon add another 1.5 secs a lap not sure what the fuel/tyre wear is set at but with them set the same my set gets me threw the wholw tank pushing fairly hard .. what it means to all yor numbers im not sure but i thought i'd throw it in here

Re: Saturday v Sunday League Enduro Race
Had a run with weight no warm up laps full tank im getting 8 laps with about 6 litres left hmmm 8.5 per lap that'll b the 4 kgs hahahah I had to change the brake ratio down to 66 34 normally 69/31 .. as soon as you lock up a brake that tyre is punished same as rear wheel spin i took off out of pits laying down some rubber and lost 10 percent.. pretty much 1 full dot so i then turned low trac on because i could only get 6 laps and i had flats on the rear. this made the tyre life a bit better after getting used to the weight changing my setup ..(weight distribution all the way to the front stiffened the front shocks and took all the rear df off and and the brakes to the rear more) driving hard got me 1 lap in the 8's and then 4 laps in the 9's a 10 then an 11 struggled to pit lane 1 lap early being a little conservative got me an extra lap but the times where 3 9's 2 10's 2 11's and a 12 then into pit.....
conclusion locking up brakes and spinning the rears will make you majorly suffer smoothness is the key
sux to be me im tyre hungry rofl

Re: Saturday v Sunday League Enduro Race
Thanks richo that's pretty much about 7 secs quicker over the stint which to be honest is about where we would always be anyway compared to me.
I tested the sierra tonight and I can lap in the very low 14's on very hard so I can see webber racer corty being in the 12's which will actually make them a little quicker than first thought. The sierra might be getting some weight as well.
Would be great if I could get some feedback from someone quicker in a sierra what they can get out of it over there 22 or so laps.
So Basically Per 24 laps est Race to be 96 laps At The moment we have
(These times include stops and the percentage the stop takes for between Stop and lap 24)
V8 Averaging 11's 1785 seconds per 24 laps
Sierra Averaging 13's 1790 seconds per 24 laps
(If averaging 12's it becomes 1766 and we may have to look at weight)
VL Averaging 15's 1838 seconds per 24 laps
BMW Averaging 16's 1860 seconds per 25 laps
It wouldn't work over a 2 hour race but over a 30 min race we could stagger the start to BMW go at 0 VL go at 20 Sec's and Sierra and V8's go at 1min mark
