Dano's new Cockpit/Rig
So on the behest groupcaction I'm putting up a few pics of a cockpit/rig I'm currently making for Dano.
So far I have only cut out a 1/4 scale model to check out the fit of the major parts.
I have made quite a few revisions to the design of some of the bits since the pics below, I will post more updates when I cut out the fullsize parts.

Spongebob seems to be quite happy with how it turned out!
All you need now is a mini steering wheel and a hobbit who can drive.
It's looking good.

Dano,
You shouldn't talk about mozza like that, he's not a hobbit.....
Benny,
I might be persuaded, but mdf on a plasma!? The pattern is in a dxf file, hell I could give you the gcode from my cnc but I bet it wouldn't work too well on your plasma cutter!
GroupC,
Yeah I'm hoping it will look good, cheers man.
I'm going to lay up a simple glass seat insert for it too, Dano doesn't want to sit on hard flat mdf

Is plasma cnc at work or home?
You would definitely need the router to do the rebates that are needed for some of the parts to lock into anyway.

At work we have it we have been taking about setting it up to do mdf to push some more work through it so why not have a play with something like this

Re: Dano's new Cockpit/Rig
Cool, I have my cnc at home, just with the router on it for now, toying with the idea of putting a laser on it in the future as well if I have the need.
I will organise a clean copy of the 1/4 scale version then soon if you like, won't have all my changes/improvements but should be enough for you to have a play with.
It's just 2d dxf as I manually do the rebate depths when I generate the gcode.

I was thinking about adding a bar fridge to mine. How many litres do you reckon I need?

You need a beer fridge one side and a Red Bull fridge the other....

Dam it! Do we need to add sidepods to the design?
I'm starting to think I know what it must have been like to be Colin Chapman.
