Fuji InterTEC 60min race - November 4
With a gap in the schedule next Sunday, we will be running a 60min enduro at Mt Fuji for TCL cars. In the 1980s the "Fuji InterTEC enduro" was a traditional season ending event for alot of Group A teams
We are using this race at a abit of a buildup event for next years WTCC series TTR will be running, and while the track isn't totally representitive of the tracks being used for the WTCC series, it will still be a good chance to try a perspective car out
https://transtasmanrivals.forumotion.com/t1285-coming-in-2013
DETAILS:
Cars: You are free to choose any TCL car in the game (links in "Sunday Mod Downloads on left).
We will be using a 2 class format like in the 1987 WTCC series we did. There will be overall results as well as class results;
Class One:
Ford Sierra (RS500 & RS Cosworth)
Hold Commodore (VK, VL and VL TWR)
BMW M3 EVO (this car is dependant on a server check)
Nissan Skyline
Toyota Supra
Ford Mustang
Class Two:
BMW M3
Mercedes 190E
Rover Vitesse
Volvo 240T
Alfa Romeo (75 and GTV6)
Toyota Corolla
Mitsubishi Starion
*BMW 635 is ineligible and not to be chosen
TRACK:
VLM Mt Fuji (1990 version) - Track is on download page
FORMAT:
Race - 60mins
Tyres - x3
Fuel - x3
QUALIFYING - Starts at 7:30pm (20mins)
Here's a clip of the 1988 Fuji-InterTEC event

Wow, very keen to do this one! A lot of Aussies have done this event and done well, but very little was reported back here.
Interesting piece of trivia. Allan Moffat won this race in 1992, in his ANZ Sierra, on his 50th birthday. He then immediately retired from driving, to honour a promise he made to himself decades earlier, that he would never be a 50 year old racing driver.

If you are even hinting that the Grp. A R32 could make an appearance, I'll explode.
If it is, please lawdy let me give it a go! I own one ( not a Grp. A one, unfortunatly. )and it would make my day!
Also, keen for this race in general. I'll just run an R31 otherwise.

It was used in the Formula Atlantic openwheelers and the N2 Sprinters in Japan, but it was never used in group A Touring Cars.

I thought I might do this in the JTCC winning M3 that the Bowden's recently bought, but the server will only let me pick ATCC or Bathurst cars.

If the old crew are gonna break out their wtcc87 chariots, I might wheel out the old 87 merc that hasn't been wheeled out since this event back during that season...

Did that when i installed man. Its on 12. My pc isnt struggling. All details are on med.
Opponents just start disappearing off the course one by one. Same thing at Bathurst Enduro. Not a single drop all week. Lap 2 of the race. Connection Lost.
Eh, im over it.

Was a good clean race with Fez and racer. Wasn't expecting much in the skyline but was good to have a good, clean fight. WD, right down to the last 10 mins.

I've missed another race I was really looking forward to. Oh well, it was my nephew's 8th birthday, so we went out for pizza and ice cream!

Re: Fuji InterTEC 60min race - November 4
With heaps of M3's on the server all week thought that there was going to be a good mix of class one and class two cars. I had Tried a few cars briefly but with the time I had the Merc was the most comfortable option for me.
At race start podium was a given in class two as there was only three of us there. I had the merc working really well and knowing I could make it on one stop and being able to push some of the Skylines in practice was hoping for a good result.
Race go off to pretty crappy start as the skylines in front of me just don't move off the line but with Shayn getting a great start behind me and already taking the inside line I was stuck waiting for the turbo to finally spool up. First lap just settled in behind peter308 and waited for tyres to come up to temp so i could start pushing hard. Had a heap more speed than peter around the back of the track but would loose so much each straight. I pushed hard and finally made the move around turn 6 ? coming down the hill into the second gear corner. I managed to get enough of a break heading on to the main straight with peter just getting to me as he had to brake and was able to out brake peter into turn one. Unfortunately the sierra in front of us had out braked him self into turn one and was in full drift mod around the turn I went to the outside but he slide that way so i went to the inside only to get a knock heading out of turn and bouncing into the wall. The final touch was really a racing incident which resulted in ending any chance i had of putting the little merc up the results which I was expecting, it was a little hard to swallow when it was all set off by a mistake and recovery.
Looking forward to winton

Re: Fuji InterTEC 60min race - November 4
Awesome night of racing!
Started really well. No idea how but I ended up third or so.
Pushed the tyres abit much whie they were still cold, and eventually the Sierra's started coming through.
After Fez went around me on the big sweeper I tried to pull him back under brakes into the last chicane and
looped it. Had to wait for the next in line to go past. Settled back in and just chugged along until the
tyres were ruined and the fuel was gone, but then I was paying to much attention to what the leaderboard
and stuffed it into the main straight wall at 200-odd. Jumped across most of the track, and then sat there
wondering what happened for a second. Sorry to the VL I didn't see coming. That hit ruined the car, and I was
in the pits for 40sec. Stayed on the lead lap, just, but then picked up some spots when everyone else pitted.
Fair gap between me and Hayden at the time, but as the stint went on I found a bunch of pace once the tyres
were going off, and I managed to catch up. Stuck with him until I had a lap left in the tank, but then we both
pitted at the same time. I thought he was going to roll into my bay for a second! Was right on him at pit exit,
and managed to get passed him a few laps later. Hayden was giving it everything to try and get me back, and I
had to work bloody hard to hold him off. Props for effort, man.
Crossed the line with maybe 10sec of race left, so I did some sick victory drifts, although I came sixth overall lol.
Props to everyone, especially Bodee. It looked like you had some trouble getting your Supra to stay straight, but you
pulled over to let me by even when I didn't have a run on you. Really professional drive, mate.
See you's at Winton!
