I think the issues have been solved Chris, it will be interesting to see how the 635 goes. Could be the gun machine for the ETCC! Hope the server goes up soon as i can't wait to grab the Rover around the neck and throw it around Brands haha

The 635 patch has sorted that problem, replacing the Merc safety car with a 635 cured it

I don't have them ingame in the 86 ETCC set, do others?

Had a run in a few cars, I think this series is going to be epic
The different cars seem to be very well matched and is going to be difficult to choose one
Was a couple of 635's in there while I was and there was no dramas, so id say all is good.

corty's quite quick in the rover around brands, hope to be able to control the tyres on the 635 as it heats the lefts very quickly above the 100deg mark and then it gets slidey!

I'm keen to give them all a try before Round 1. I think this could be a very wide open seson, in terms of cars, not so much drivers.

I gave most cars a try last night in Class 3, I liked the BMW a lot, seems well planted to the road.
I couldn't get a setup going with the Rover at all, GroupC even sent me a setup to try that I still battled with. Must have been my driving style, although Patto and I agree it is a bit of an animal.
Didn't try the Commodore only because I don't want to drive a Commodore......
I finally settled on the Volvo, it seems to be adjustable enough, feels lighter to drive and should have sufficient grunt when the turbo spools up.

Re: July 28 - ETCC 1986 Warm-up Event @ Brands Hatch GP Circuit
That was good fun, close racing, well matched cars and a challenging, fast flowing track. I qualified 18th out of 21, nothing unusual there, but in the first two laps of Race 1 there were people carting each other off the circuit left, right and centre. I made a good start and avoided all of that and found myself in 12th postion and stayed there or thereabouts for the rest of the race.
I slightly underestimated the fuel consumption and had to short shift for the last two laps and ran out of fuel at paddock hill bend, just after i crossed the line.
Race 2 I made a quick start but Benny was asleep right in front of me and he copped a Mercedes enema when I misjudged the gap. Just panel damage, so we continued on. I had a couple of little battles along the way and pulled out a PB on the last lap. I think i ended up 14th.

good stuff patto, consistency will get you spots for sure. monza will be different though and you might be a little underpowered. i'm thinking even the 635 might be underpowered.

I just finished reading about the 1986 ETCC at Monza. Rovers & Volvos set the pace and the Commodores ran with them, but failed early. BMWs weren't quick, but they picked up the minor placings after the Volvos & Commodores failed. Mercs and Alfas were well off the pace.
