What a good nights racing!
I'll do a report later but do have to show how close Corty came to wiping me out when he forgot to brake for the first chicane.
I was just about to turn in when Corty came flying past me at a great rate of knots! Totally shit myself but managed to keep the car going...

Super Night Of Racing Guys! Howd you all go?

I got my PB in qualifying. 18.9xx only good enough for 8th though haha.

Race 1
Got a pretty sweet start and settled in behind RACER and GCA early on. Really close racing with these two early in the race. The Volvo had a little more pace than RACERs 635 so i could keep up with him where usually i would have no hope. Managed to swap positions a couple times including some close calls on the second chicane. Bit silly by me sometimes hmmm.

RACER fell back and i was left chasing GCA. The Rover is a little slower in a SL but in stadium he could keep it infront of me. All the time i had CHRIS DONNELLY bearing down on me. I was holding him off but on LAP7 i touched the grass while braking for the first chicane and slid into the concrete tyre wall.

A bit later on FEZ underbraked and tapped me out onto the last straight, he waited to yield and as i re entered GRUNTER ran up the back of me, my fault. Shoulda been more carefull. I was waiting for him to go back past but he never came and about 6 cars passed me.
Finished 12th.

Race 2
Started 12th, dodged some cars on LAP1 and got into 9TH place. Passed FCDEAN, DONNELLY and FEZ in the first 5 laps and started after RACER who was 5th. He was 3 seconds ahead of me for ages. I just couldnt catch up. Still had a 5 second lead on DONELLY at this point but he worries me. In fact we sort of have around the same pace. If he doesnt mind me saying that. He usually out quallies me, but in the races, we are pretty evenly matched. Great to chase.

ahhh, where am i . . . okay.

GROWLER came unstuck at the first chicane on LAP7 and i grabbed 5th off him. Then RACER had a spin at T1 and that got me into 4TH SPOT!!! With GCA 9 seconds up the road and BILLBOB 6 behind me, i tried to calm down and keep it steady. Loosen the KUNGFU grip i had on the wheel for a bit lol.

CORTY passed me on my pitting outlap. And DONNELLY was now right on my ass. OFCOURSE i had to ram another tyre wall. So i chose the one at Chicane 2 this time just to keep it fresh. DONNELLY zoomed by and now FCDEAN latched onto the back of me.

This was a great fight for the last 7 laps or so. I could only get a 1.3second lead and thats it. Very good racing by him it was hard to stay ahead. But this Volvo has enough on the straights to keep its nose infront. Some great battles continued but he got me side by side in the second chicane and i went in too fast for the exit and he finally made it by. He came loose on the next s bend though and i took back the spot. Cruised to the finish line.

Super race. Everyone is so fast now and you cant take anyone for granted.

I was a little worried about my handling of the second chicane but after watching the replay i was fine haha. Some drivers tactics through there were terrible, no wheels on the road at all.

Well done to Benny on the two wins. Thats awesome. And DONNELLY for getting up the front having fallen back so many times. Great drive.

Seeyas next week and thanks for reading. lol.

Wow, stoked as for Benny! Must have been a ripper effort, that's a tough track and so easy to get it crossed up into a chicane as you can tell by reading Shayn's awesome writeup.

Nice!

Another great night of racing and another winner in this series cheers
Well done Benny, you were the one to beat this round !!

Really struggled to get the thing off the line with my gear ratio I was running.
Had racer69 and chrisrx on my tail the first few laps, was glad to get a gap and stayed in 2nd over the line.

Sorry to Groupc & more Growler for the scare in race 2 coming into the first chicanes, I must have had a brain fade and forgot where I was on the track or something scratch lol
Once I realized I missed the brake marker Shocked  affraid there was nothing I could do but pick a gap through and hope for the best (not for me, but to not hit anyone). I just chipped a bit of paint off Growler's front bumper, got air born, landed, spun, hit the fence and stalled the engine lol.
Was 35+ seconds behind the leader after that, did a early pit for some fuel and fresh rubber then pushed like no tomorrow !!
Managed to get into second place somehow before the finish line ?

The most enjoyable round for me this series so far, well done all cheers

Yep, top night again, racing was good and clean, despite the long straights, Hockenheim is a narrow track with not much room to move in the chicanes.

Qualified 4th with a 17.9, once again saved my best lap of the weekend for Qualifying which I'd hoped for. I felt Aus-Chris was going to be the Volvo pace setter throughout the night though, he's got a really good handle on the Volvo at the moment.

Race 1 - First start, made a bit of a shocker drifted back a few spots than got pole axed up the back coming into the second chicane, I requested a restart and got one thankfully, cheers guys!

On the restart I got away well, was alongside Aus-Chris coming into the 1st chicane, but got two wheels in the grass in the braking area, took me ages to sort it out and rejoin, fell down to about 11th, so was pretty disappointed with myself for making a dumb error. Got the head down after that, passed a few guys, then had pretty good pace, knocked out an 18.5. It took me a while to catch Racer69 and Shayn who were having a good battle, in fact I struggled to haul them in they were going really well. Shayn made a small error (easy to do at Hock.), I nipped by. Racer endo'ed his BMW at the second chicane which gifted me another place. I found my Medium/Medium tyres held up well enough, felt I was making big gains on GroupC and Aus-Chris in the closing laps as they were dicing pretty hard. Happy enough with 5th after my early drama, but was determined not to make another mistake in Race 2.

Race 2 - made a great start, was in the battle on Lap 1, but was miles too conservative under brakes for the chicanes. I got outbraked by about 5 cars. Pretty disappointed with that again. I drifted back to about 9th or 10th after being in 4th at the first chicane.

I got caught up in a great battle with Shayn, Fez, Growler, GroupC, was on for young and old! I was following Fez into the second chicane and he had a monster shunt and bounced off every piece of scenery in the vicinity and rebounded into me, bringing me to a sudden stop. I set off again and had a top battle with Billy Bob and Corty who I thought was either having problems or taking it easy. My pit stop was OK, made a gain again I think, then got the head down. I had nothing for Corty who powered by, and took ages to catch Shayn again who had really good speed. I finally got him but as mentioned, he had a minor off which adds up to a major delay here when you wash off speed. From then on, I had a pretty lonely race, was concerned about my fuel usage towards the end. Made another dumb error on the last lap and looped it coming off T1, hit the fence, got going again, but lost about 20 seconds on that lap alone. I thought Shayn and FCDean were going to nail me but I just held on and wobbled home.

In hindsight, I think Hard/Hard might have been the better tyre set option for me last night, the Medium/Mediums went away too much.

As Shayn mentioned, I agree, I struggle with him a bit, he has mega pace and great race craft and I am lacking that a bit at the moment I think. I keep drifting back on the opening laps by not being aggressive enough. Maybe that's the newbie in me, not wanting to upset the rest of the more seasoned racers. As for Shayn, the only reason I got by was due to two small (but costly) errors on his part.

Congrats to the Top 3, you guys were in a different league last night. Good to see a different winner too, top work Benny. I'm hoping to be the next different winner next week at Misano Smile

medium - medium were the right strategy chris but you needed to get a new set in the pits when fueling up cost about the same time at this track.

What a great night of racing. My results were poor but fun factor was first rate. Had some fantastic dices with grunter, growler and chris donelly... excellent racing by all except me perhaps lol, with silly errors taking me out of some awsome battles.
Well done benny on the back to back wins.

Again a good nights racing.
Throughout the week I was struggling to get lower than 2.20. I had a reasonable setup that turned in well but the rear was a little twitchy out of corners.
On the night I tried GroupC's setup. The rear was good but didn't turn in as much as I would have liked...so I combined both setups and tweaked it from there to come out with something I was happy with.

Race 1
I had an awesome start once it changed green. I passed several cars and got into fourth, then third, then second...and had a reasonable gap behind me. Then we restarted. Gutted!

Race 1A
Again had a good start, and managed to stay with the top group for a lap or so, but couldn't catch them. Had a few dices with various people and finished in the top 10.

Race 2
Had a good launch but got held up behind Cortys Commodore. On the first lap or so I was behind Chris Donnelly and he disappeared. It wasn't until coming into the stadium he appeared again right next to me hitting me coming back onto the track. This put me sideways however using my excellent driving skills I managed to bring the Rover back under control.
In the early laps I had a good dice with GroupC but locked the rear diff coming into the first chicane which put me sideways into the wall. During this "dice" I had Corty doing a kamikaze on me into the first chicane!
I came into the pits and forgot to take damage off which cost me some time, but got back into racing catching Grunter and Billy Bob.
Its unfortunate Billy Bob hit the wall at the second chicane because I was gaining on him and it would have been good racing trying top get past him.
I finished 8th I think.

Well done to Benny for the win, and GroupC for the rear suspension settings!
And thanks to everyone else for some excellent racing all round.

Was a pretty decent round in the Rover.

Quali went well with a PB to go 3rd.

R1: I got a pretty average getaway in the restarted R1 and had to claw my way back to the front runners. I never had the pace of the Commodores or Chrisrx's jetpack Volvo. I got back up to 4th which i was pleased about.

R2: I got a pretty decent start this time but made a few mistakes in the early laps jostling for track position. I got into a couple of great battles in the early laps. First with teammate Growler!! That was alot of fun Growler, top battle! I thought both myself and him could work together and peck back Benny n Chris who looked like they were battling up front too but Corty out broke himself into the chicane and that gave me a chance to put my head down and chase the leaders.

I thought Benny and Chris were then gonna run away but i managed to keep them in sight until the pitstops. I had a really good in lap, i had calculated the fuel in my head i needed not to overfill the Rover. I got out of the pits just as Chris exited T1. Chris from there had mega pace and pulled away as the Rover didn't feel very happy with older tyres and new fuel haha. Benny was catching me at a pretty serious rate but when Chris spun on the exit of T1 i thought of places i could maybe hold Benny off. The Rover was MEGA through the stadium area and the gap that i'd make there i could hold Benny to the Ostkurve but from there it would be hard. Benny grabbed me on the run down to the 3rd chicane. From there i thought i'd settle for 2nd which i would be wrapped with but then a recovering Corty and Chris (WD Boys, mega pace from both of you guys at the end!!!) hunted me down. I came across the line again in 4th but with a massive smile still on my face as i really enjoyed all the battles i had on track.

MASSIVE Props to Benny!!! 2 from 2 mate!! Just mega pace but also mega consistency throughout the Round. Congrats to Corty and also Chris for driving really well. WD everyone as again the racecraft as stepped up another level again, everyone is driving really smart, tough but very clean!! Smile

I was definately trying to ease it back onto the track there Growler, I think you actually punted me off at the previous right hander because you couldn't see me!  You do have awesome skills though mate Wink

Anyway, you'll be happy to know that I'm that hooked on the TTR Racing stuff that I managed to convince my wife we needed a better internet connection.  ADSL2 is now available on my exchange so I signed up immediately!  May not have it up for this weekend, but will be right following the fathers day weekend break. No more disappearing, lag and mammoth pings!  Yay!

I think that is as bad as it gets in the Mercedes. Next track should be a lot more enjoyable.

Yeah, this would have to be the worst track for the Merc, worse than Monza.  Silverstone won't do us a lot of good either...

misano will be good for the merc, just have to hold your lines so you don't compromise your advantage of cornering speed.
