How did everyone's race turn out?

I didnt do enough practice for this round. No time during the week. Wasn't expecting much, didnt get much.

PB qualifying for arouuund 8th place i think. 1:42 something.

Race 1.
Chased RACER for a while and GROWLER too. But eventually they pulled away. Had a spin mid way through which made me angry and i lost concentration. Fell back a few spots. Didnt help that i chose to run softs like a douche. Me, on softs. AHAH. Yeah sure.

Ended up having to coast to the line with 0 fuel. Only just made it an came in 17th.



Race 2.
Got a pretty good jump and picked up a couple of spots. Was racing with BILLY BOB for a good seven laps or so. Very close and evenly matched battle there, very good. Was hoping to keep it up for a long distance but when i managed to pass him, BILLY came unstuck and spun off into the grass. He didnt keep going. Sadface.

DONNELLY was behind us the whole time and even though i never had a chance to look behind me while 2cms from BILLYS bumper, i knew he was there. Even when he was driving sideways or disappearing for half a lap haha. It was like racing a ghost at times. He'd slide off the track and then appear right infront of me two corners later. Again very good racing with him as usual. Lots of close action.

Clearly i had not done a full length run during the week so i had no idea the fuel was only gonna last half the race. Had no pitstop setup and had to do it on the fly after working out how much longer it would last. Adjusting pit settings while doing 120kms/h isnt very fun haha.

Right befroe my pitstop DAN tapped me off the pit straight and kept going. He tells me i broke way early, so ehh, whatever, same place id been braking all race. Not his fault i guess.

Ehhm, didnt change tyres like a tard, so for the second half of the race i just flailed around like a bucket of salmon, putting in 1:45s and 6s and so on. FEZ caught up to me and zoomed off into the distance, GROWLER eventually chased me down aswel.



Bit shit really. Volvo is harder than i expected to drive. So yeah. Thats that.

Well done to the winners. Completely deserved if you managed to stay at the front. Good work. Cyas for the next trip in two weeks.

Sorry to ROADRAT for scaring him in RACE1. I was coasting to the finish line on fumes, and i picked the wrong way to go. Bad Luck BILLY. Sad to see you drop out.

had an awesome race 1 and good start to race 2 let down by my own speeding in bit lane which led to a stop and go then thought i may be able to claw some time if i changed to softs 12 mins from the end... they lasted alright and was gaining on growler and shayno at the end of the race but fell a lap short to overtake them. bring on the next round.

Really busy this week, getting ready for MCM, did zero practice, learnt the track in qualifying and ended up 20th.

Had some fun in Race 1, trying to race with Nuty, he was faster than me, but i was more consistent. I figured on an 8 lap race, so put 10 laps of fuel in. Coming out of the last corner, as the leaders were on their last lap, i had just 1 litre in the tank, so i stopped short of the line and waited for them, so i could idle over the line and be classified as a finisher. Finished 18th.

Race 2, I started with a full tank and soft/soft, couldn't match anyone for pace and drove around by myself the whole time. At half distance, the front right was well worn, but the other tyres were all fresh. I pushed on until 2/3 distance and came in for 55 litres and new softs all around. Cruised home easily in 17th place.

Like Patto and Shayn, I didn't get a lot of practice laps in for Misano and I think my results reflected that. This is despite Aus-Chris throwing a Volvo setup idea at me, I think it was my driving that let me down to be honest.

Qualified poorly in 10th with a 42.8, mind you it was pretty close, 3/10ths would have got me up to 6th. Just didn't get a complete lap out of it, got some decent sectors, just not a whole lap.

Race 1 - Went fairly conservative on tyre selection with Hard/Medium (I'm not as brave as Shayn going with Softs!), got a decent start, had some good battles, chased FCDean for most of the race, had Fez and BillyBob up my clacker and Shayn and Racer were at it hammer and tongs in front of us. Was great viewing from where i was sitting. Finished 9th behind BillyBob after Shayn fell off somewhere. Ran 43's for the most part, but it was probably about a second shy of where I needed to be pace wise.

Race 2 - Ran Very Hard/Hard tyre combo. I made a better start than in Race 1 from 9th and got up to 7th, again in a mega battle with FCDean. Then I started my disappearing and reappearing act and Berlsy bumped me off at Turn 3 (probably because he didn't see me) and I lost about 5 spots sorting it out on the grass on the outside. No big deal, I pretty much know when I start getting bumped off the track it is because of my crappy connection!

Then I just knuckled down and tried to cut some consistent laps, found myself in another battle with my old mate Shayn, we were pretty evenly matched again and we raced each other hard up (with Dan joining in in his BMW) until Lap 12 when I decided to dive into the pits. I think Shayn races more aggressively than me, still very fair mind you, but I probably need to take a leaf out of his book there. I was looking for an undercut to try and nail Shayn and FCDean. I then realised I'd probably pitted a lap early and hoped like crazy I'd put enough fuel in for the second stint. Good in lap, outlap was a bit ragged.

I figured I must have jumped Shayn at the pit stop, from then I just drove to try and get home, I didn't have much for FCDean, he drove away from me in one of his best drives in the Rover to date, then Racer69 must have used his tyres up because he started coming back to us - I wobbled past him, and fired into T1, Racer bumped me off (nothing in it by the way, he only just tapped me, so no need to apologise mate), I think I might have been just over the back of the exit kerb with 4 wheels and then I get a Drive Thru Penalty for cutting the course! FFS.... It was a shame because I think I had it up to 6th place at that stage. So into the pits I go, then realised I'd forgotten to turn off the refuelling, so I'm sitting there serving a penalty and the crew is dumping in another 110 litres of fuel...... Then to compound my woes, I drive out the pit lane, and get ancy and turn off the Pit Lane Speed Limiter with about 5m to go of pit lane - then get another Drive Thru for a pit lane speeding...... Oh dear.....

Anyway, finished a stunning 14th in Race 2. Still had heaps of fun, just a frustrating track to drive at I reckon. Can't wait for the ADSL2 which is booked in for August 27th - should be right for Anderstorp.

Race 1 was pretty predictable for me, finishing behind DV8.

But race 2 was a different story. I managed to get in front of DV8 a couple of laps before my scheduled pit stop, I think he must of had an off somewhere which got me in front. But I ended up behind him after he made his stop. 3 laps of bumper to bumper racing and with 3 laps to go I managed to pass DV8 with a good exit out of the 3 left handers leading onto the back straight. But he didn't give up and kept coming back and having a go where ever he could. In the end, I think it was his tyre choice that let me win this battle. It was that close at the end that DV8 followed me onto the grass out of the last corner onto the main straight. It would have to have been the best side by side racing I've been involved with so far.

You've got the edge on me DV8, but 1 mistake, and I'm there ready to pounce. It's a great little Alfa-Merc battle.

Sounds like an awesome battle RoadRat! I might check out the replay tonight, the Class 2 guys are doing a really good job.

How good is the championship battle mid season, all the way down the ladder theres 1 or 2 points separating drivers, hope its like this all the way to the end. 4 way title fight but doesnt take much to get more players involved!

Yeah I t-boned Billy after he had an accident ahead, you could say it was like hitting a brick wall. I think I lost 11 seconds due to it. I did stuff up on tyres I went hard/mediums for the whole race to save time in the pits but they dropped off too early. The last few laps were a lot of fun, I gave it everything but couldn't get through. Race 1 went reasonably well although I was a bit off my practice pace.

Yes...I was directly behind you and just managed to avoid both of you by going on the grass...

where do i find the season standings? theres no category for 1986 ETCC.
