Round 13 - Jarama
The penultimate round of the series takes us to Spain and the Jarama circuit, one time host of the Spanish Grand Prix.
The track is available in the "Downloads" section of this site.
The track is pretty tight and twisty so should produce some good racing....hopefully I can get the BMW up for its first win of the championship
Last time TTR raced here was during the "1987 WTCC" series in 2011, when GroupCAction took victory.

A while back i did some pre-planning for an early-70s style touring car championship using the Historix 1.95 mod.Growler wrote:Can we have this touring car league for next year?
I found the likes of the RS2600 Capri, BMW 2800s etc would be competitive with the Camaro's and Trans-Am Mustangs, would produce great racing

Re: Round 13 - Jarama
well, what a round!
i didnt do a lap before jumping on so was immediately a few seconds off the pace and with no real setup the car was a bit taily. qualified in 8th and got off to a blinder of a start, before i knew it i was racing around in 4th! lap by lap kept it up and just wanted to keep it smooth and in one piece. car started to fade in the last stint (i did have the soft tyres on still) and after holding off racer for a bit, it was gone, berlsy took me and then i lost the ass end on the second last lap. hit the wall and gave myself a puncture. limped it around to the finish line and sat there whilst everyone drove past, after DV_8 won i crossed the line a lap down.
Race 2, changed my tyres and sharpened up the rear end a bit. set myself up for a reverse strategy to pit on lap 10 and go till the end. after a decent start and a few good laps i mashed the brakes into one and must have locked up the rears as before i knew it, i was spinning through the sand. the rest of that lap however i was a rocket ship, catching and overtaking corty with ease! i just kept running my race as there was no one close by to race with i just played it smart with the next person behind me 30 seconds behind, i just moved along and crossed the line in 7th. very happy with the outing indeed
unfortunately i wont be able to join the last race in Estoril as i will be working at the wanneroo 300 on a 458 challenge car run out of my work. should be a good weekend.

Re: Round 13 - Jarama
was an awesome 2 races,
1st race had an appauling start trying to get the power down and couldn't which ran me wide and onto the grass, then i had to start to fight my way back through the field, got by a few as they made some mistakes and got up behind Mike80 whom i raced ages ago in the 85 series. i'd raced behind him a whole race when he was in a williams so i knew he could hold his own here. any way got a little too close to him and he made a mistake that i tried to dodge but ended up off the track. eventually clawed my may back up to 3rd and had an awesome battle with dean trying some overtaking moves out before sealing 2nd spot into first hairpin on last lap.
2nd race i got away off the line well and led dv8 around for a few laps and he managed to get past me coming up to the pitstops. pitted at the same time to minimise the undercut and ended up makeing a small mistake coming down the hill a few laps from the end and still came home second. some awesome racing from DV8 and others, leaving room and racing hard....

I really enjoyed that second that race, Chris was setting a fast pace so I had to keep responding to keep the pressure on. I managed to get past as his tyres went off and keep a consistent gap for the rest of the race.
