2015 - Feedback Needed Please!!!
Guys,
The last round of the 2.5 liter TCL Championship is this Sunday. This will be the last race before Christmas so it is time to start thinking of what leagues you guys want to run in 2015.
We have had some excellent Sunday leagues this year with good numbers using TCL, GT3 and Bathurst Legends. I personally have had some good racing with everyone who has competed.
I would like some feedback on how things were run, and what we should look at for next year.
Race nights
Are you happy with how the admins run race night? Are the race lengths OK or do you want more variation?
Is there anything that you feel needs to be implemented? (Penalty points for example).
Leagues
What leagues do you want us to run on Sunday nights? Are the fun leagues on Thursdays and Tuesdays adequate? Are there too many race nights?
Mods
This year TCL, GT3 and Bathurst Legends have proved popular.
What other mods do you want us to run. I’m keen to do another GT3 league, and ChrisRX has mentioned we could use the 2014 V8 Supercars mod that is being worked on.
The Group C (Sports cars) mod is just around the corner so it would be good to do an endurance series as well.
The Historix mod has huge potential and would be good to run that again. What about other mods? (Single Seaters? Big Trucks? Although these could be used for fun nights).
Other Considerations
rFactor 2.
More and more groups are moving to rFactor 2. Do we set up a test server and run a few leagues to test it out?
There isn’t as much content as rFactor 1, but this will increase as we progress.
Assetto Corsa
I’m in two minds with this. The graphics are nice but the physics don’t work for me. The networking is OK, but not great.
There is a lot of content coming out and the modding teams seem to be divided with using this platform or rFactor 2.
Project Cars
The graphics are awesome and the sound is great, but I don’t think this would take off as a league (Plus it hasn’t been released yet).
I would appreciate all of your comments. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Here's my $0.02
I love TCL, I'm totally obsessive about it TBH, but I also like Historix. I'm reluctant to d/l too much more content on my poor old PC, but I might be keen to try V8SC or GT3.
I'm happy to race one night a week, I reckon that's enough for me. Monday is definitely not viable for me, but most other nights are good.
I like short races, an old injury makes it hard for me to sit for too long. 40 minutes is about the limit for me. 3 short races in one night would be fun.

Re: 2015 - Feedback Needed Please!!!
had some good races this year and some close championships but been drifting away from the tcl's a bit of late as it gets boring racing the same cars over and over again. i did like the alternating leagues where you could jump in every second weekend and race one league and have have time off etc for other commitments.
i reckon we run the rsm v8 mod if the let us.
as they also have a holden ute in that mod we could use for a single make series
also how about an 95 indy series
or 67 f1 series although these will take skill and attrition is high.

Hey Growler,
I've been a bit guilty of missing a few races this year with the new baby and generally having a bit on with race meetings etc.
Race Nights - I enjoy the Sunday Nights and will continue in whatever series runs on that night. I tried running a few on a Tuesday or a Thursday but I struggle with daylight savings and just being flat out.
With regard to Leagues and Mods, I was a bit disappointed that the F1 1991 Michael Schumacher Series we did wasn't very well supported. I would definately love to do this again as well as the Group C Sporty mod. I love TCL and would race in that also, I'm a big fan of the mod. I'm keen to try the new V8 mod ChrisRX told me about last night. As for formats, I quite like the enduro events, the ETCC 1986 season we did with the Spa and Silverstone 2 hour events were just mega in the Volvo.
I've only got rFactor 1, don't have rFactor 2 so I can't really comment.
Regardless I'll do whatever you blokes want to do and try and do as many races as I can.

Another idea would be a one make series. You could pick a car from any mod and race that. I believe some years ago you ran the Corolla/Levin mod and that went down reasonably well.

Re: 2015 - Feedback Needed Please!!!
First up, it's been awesome to get back into it! The back end of 2014 has been great here, cheers to all!
I think the race nights are good as is, the race lengths are nice. Not too long, but not a one-lap demo derby.
I wouldn't mind a scout lap and a cool-down lap post-race becoming a thing, but I'm not that fussed, understand if people are tight on time, etc.
I like the amount of racing on, means there's always something to drive. Makes it a bit hard to get practice in for everything, but I'll live.
TCL and V8SC seem like a given to me, the new V8SC mod would be an awesome update. Big fan of DRM, which could lead into Group C for me, but I could go for all sorts! I saw the '94 DTM mod which looks pretty cool. Or maybe Rallycross or something? Seconded for enduros, too.
I'm happy on rFactor 1 at the moment, but I'd probably try the next round of games if everyone else did.

Re: 2015 - Feedback Needed Please!!!
Would be great to run the RSM mods once finished, No point running them until then !
Also we need to get the go ahead to run their mods ?
Maybe Chrisrx (If he wants ?)can run them for us on one of the nights ?
I think I saw them say they are working on V8 Supercars, V8 Utes & Aussie cars ?
Anyway I think V8's is a must along with TCL !
Didn't gel that well with the GT3's & DRM, but would be willing to have another shot at the GT3's if they were run again.
Historix are always great !
Bathurst Legends anytime ! Either 1969 or 1972, I don't think TTR has ever run the 69 mod ?
Escorts were great fun & as a single make !
In terms of the other platforms of games, they may be a pain in the ass ? as I don't think any of them are finished games ?
We'd most likely have to do updates through running a series, which would be a pain in the ass if you didn't know & turned up for a race night.
Haven't been on RF2 for a while, but last time I was it was a pile of poop ! compared to RF1.
Just didn't like the way the cars handle (Could be the FFB ? )
The only other one I've tried it Game Stock Car Extreme (much the same as Rfactor) which was unreal and worth the try !
Lots of mods and tracks out there now for Game Stock Car.
I think the night could be mixed up a little ?
Maybe 1x 15min & 1x 40min (as we do now)
I think 3x 20min or 3x 15min races would work well, with a CPS in 1 of the 3 races (each driver chooses which race the want to pit in) & also a reverse grid in the middle race.
This creates lots of strategy also a chance for different people on the top spots !
Then the odd enduro race !
Single seaters would be great if we can find a mod that everyone can drive ?
I think the cart series mod were fairly easy to drive ?
Also we need to get the go ahead to run their mods ?

Good feedback guys. Keep it coming!
I might look at some other mods and do some testing over the Christmas break. I know the Corolla 86 mod was popular. I know there was a Formual Ford type single seater mod floating aroing there some years ago. I'll see if I can dig it out.

formula ford mod(or similar) would be neat, been wanting to find something like that for a while
i think we need to do more 1 off enduro's (90 min minimum in my opinion), post it to all the other clubs and try and get new people involved with us. maybe 1 every 3-4 months

Agree with all of the above, Formula Ford sounds like it would be cool if there is a mod available.
And Enduro's. Love em'.

Pretty sure JFF are running a Formula Ford mod ATM ?
If not the RTrainers were good as well.

Re: 2015 - Feedback Needed Please!!!
We did run a Formula something at KSR a few years ago. I will have to load it up and see what it is like again.
I have also found a few more mods to try. One is the Formula BMW mod which is similar to Formula Ford, however it runs 1200RS BMW Motorcycle engine. The other is Formula Nippon which I think uses 2.0 litre Honda engines. One I might try is the Formula 3 mod as well. These run a 2 litre and have around 200hp

Re: 2015 - Feedback Needed Please!!!
Having raced with a few different groups the last few years and all of them trying the 73 Bathurst legends (one of my top 3 mods) , only to find after 1-2 rounds numbers drop right off , i suggest giving it a miss. An open wheeler formula mod sounds good and maybe run fixed setups or limited setup to even up the field a little, or a one make series like Meganes , mini, HQ's or something like that.
Since my brother bought me iRacing for xmas i have spent a fair bit of time on that and must say its improved a lot in the past few years, tho i believe RF2 will still be better once they develop it properly and get more content, just my 2 bobs worth Merry Xmas to all and a happy new year, catch you on a track soon
