Re: Historic GT - Aussie Tour series - Test, Tune, Fun nights
Cheers to the ones that turned up on short notice
As stated above, there will be an other Test night next week at a different track.
Was pretty happy with all the cars, there pretty evenly matched, so should make some pretty good racing.
There was a fair bit of drifting going on from a few of you, looked awesome !!
One thing you will have to be careful of is the engine !
I drove the doors off the Cortina and it blew on the 3rd lap lol.
Look forward to seeing you all next Sunday

Re: Historic GT - Aussie Tour series - Test, Tune, Fun nights
Just did some offline testing. I started with the Alfa, because i figured it would be as quick as anything, but found it hard to set-up and even harder to drive.
I then tried the Mini and it was much easier, but it has wild turn-in oversteer. It's controllable, but very unnerving.

You would have been DQ'ed because you didn't turn your lights on for the night race.
Map a button so you can turn your lights on and off for next time.

Just like real '60s racing!
Was a great night, looking forward to a championship with these. I enjoyed the night racing/time-lapse too, so I'd welcome that in the longer races for an enduro-ey feel

Did everyone like the night Racing ?
A few said it was hard to see ?
I found the Cortina really good in the night.
Ill have a look at the other cars in the night as soon as I get a chance.

That was good fun, i realy enjoyed it and was happy to be closer to the pack than usual. The time lapse was fun, but i had to change which lights were on in the room.
These cars are so loose!

Re: Historic GT - Aussie Tour series - Test, Tune, Fun nights
I initially chose the Alfa, but thought I'd give the Jag a try last night. In all my practice sessions I was really struggling for pace and had no idea why. Turns out TC was on and was slowing me down everywhere, I started fumbling through the FKeys during the last race, found it and the Jag immediately grew another set of legs and I was away and into the 23's.
After I gave the Jag a free rev and blew my engine in my pit stop, I had the opportunity to watch the rest of the racing, was awesome to watch Growler backing it in everywhere in his pendulum and Patto who was doing a mighty job in the little underpowered Mini. I was pretty impressed with Dave too and the smoothness he was showing in the Jag.
I did some more practice in both the Alfa and the Jag last night after the racing and really enjoy both cars. I think there will be a good mix of circuits that will suit both the nippy small cars and the lumbering Jag.
I'll probably stick with my initial selection in the Alfa, but I reckon the Jag might be a bit of a sleeper for a series win.

Re: Historic GT - Aussie Tour series - Test, Tune, Fun nights
the night was difficult to see in the elan. might need some new HID bulbs before next race. the elan is sooooooooo much better with a full tank of gas and even with 250kg added it wasn't a rocket ship being 1.5 sec slower but easier to drive.

Glad you had a great time Addam
Anytime you need help, just ask mate !
As for the donation, $50 a week is way to much ! LOL
Even $50 once a month is more than enough !
Don't get me wrong as donations are what all this survives on and are verrry.....
Very generous mate

I just had a go at the Elan and the vision at night was the same as the Cortina I was driving last night.
I think you may have to adjust you screen or something ?
Besides its supposed to be harder to see at night
