FFB settings etc

Post by TTR=JD on 2011-04-11, 21:50

Ok guys. When i started out using rfactor 3 years ago i really struggled for a long time as i rely heavily on feeling what a car does rather than seeing it. It took me a long time of looking around, downloading plugins etc and then tweaking the files to get the feedback i wanted. This may help you or it may not but i have passed it on to 2 people and they have really liked the feel it gives so i have decided to host the files for you all to try if you like. I would like your feedback good or bad is welcome. I am not sure how much difference it makes with the type of wheel you use but i use a Logitech G25. There are 4 files 2 Leo FFB & 2 Real Feel plugins that need to go in your rfactor plugins folder. The other TTRJD.ini Controller file needs to be put in your controller folder and when you open rfactor you need to select this and you may need to re-assign some buttons. You may also find your in game settings may effect how it feels if they are different to what i run or the way you have Logitech profiler setup. Below are screen shots of my in game settings for you. Even if you have these files you will find mine are different, so make a copy of your old files or move them to a folder on your desktop so if you don't like my setup you can delete the files and put your files back in. Please NOTE i tweaked this to suit the ORSM V8 mods, so it may or may not have the feel you want in other mods. JD.

lol!

Kris... reminds me of a race I had early last year.... I was so into the chase (had been right behind this guy for 10 laps or more!) and it
got so intense I ripped the keyboard shelf, the wheel was attached to, off the desk........

lol!

Your welcome Kris, I found the FFB strength very stiff when i 1st set this up but i soon got the feel for it. Glad to help & i hope these settings can help some other drivers out here at TTR. Wow mate 60 hrs a week is hard after a while. I have almost had my monitor fall off the desk as i yank the wheel, haha.
