Please note: above results aren't part of the championship as Bathurst rerun is next week.
This is only a guide for those that ran last night to see how they would of went if we decided to count this race.
My apologies for the server mishaps tonight, I hope over the two races everyone got to turn a wheel.
I will attempt tommorrow to meld both races together after I get the results for the top ten guys off the server.

Re: Post Bathurst/s
Some of the measures to try to ensure our best that we can do will be to up the capacity of the server and also go through the files and see if there is anything there that tells it to time out for any reason.

Re: Post Bathurst/s
(sorry for the long winded review, but its Bathurst, not just any race.)
As far as i can tell, ppl had some interesting things happen tonight so i will keep that in mind.
I qualified 16th or something, due to traffic, errors and bad driving by me lol.
Which put me in the bottom field and into the "slower car" race. Which, going by what Mozza has said, was a good thing anyways.
I got a good start in the race of 9 cars in our field, and was running 5th at the bottom of the hill into T3, with Wally in the lead.
Me and Wobbly ran off into the grass in the second last turn and i came back onto the hard stuff in front of him. On lap 3 Trippy got by me in the Sierra on the first straight, and i ended up chasing him for a lap, until he came off into the grass and i took back 3rd from him.
Inevitably though he got back by me on the straight and this is where i stay for a while. Behind Trippy. lol.
Then on the second last corner i nudged Trippy in the rear, and he came to a complete stop in the middle of the road, and i got by him, i dont think it was my doing there. ?????
This put me in 2nd with fishfinga and Obbzy chasing closely.
By the 10th lap i was going along nicely with Wally behind me, yes, behind me. I kept him at bey for a long time, which i was very happy with as i know how fast he is.
His car musta been borked.
I pitted on lap 12 for fuel and tyres, and came out in 4th spot. Then got by Wally again when he came in for his stop.
I managed to pull out a 10second gap on him and was travelling well. Losing him in the top parts and then he caught me up on the fast bits.
Then on lap 17 in 2nd place . . . . DISASTER!!
I ran off the second last turn into the goddamn quicksand that they replaced the gravel with. By the time i limped out of it, id lost 3 spots.
Then on, is not really worth talking about, as i was just playing catchup in 5th place basically. And thats where i finished.
Another 10 mins, and i woulda got 3rd back. But eh. Great race anyways. Had some good battles with a couple guys and i raced well enough to finish 2nd in the race. (bar the quicksand trip)
Very happy with the race. Super fun track to drive on, even for an hour, i coulda gone for 2 more.
Great racing by you guys.
Cyas Next round.

Re: Post Bathurst/s
had a decent race, would of liked a bigger field to race against. poor mozza in the merc. that would of sucked.
also wally i dont think merging is really fair. i know that i for one dont just race my hardest 100% of the time, due to tyre wear fuel and so i dont crash. so merging the races is like racing against a clock.

Once again I apologize to everyone about last night....
Next week was going to be an off week but I think we should run bathurst again....
after all it is bathurst, today I will bump the server up to larger amount of slots and go through the files compared to the hype server and primary target and the hostile contact(based in Dallas and exceot for high pings, seems to be the best of our servers at the moment)
luckily I am on holidays, so i can get up at 5 am and do all this stuff lol

Re: Post Bathurst/s
Haven't spoke to Benny yet but here's my ideas so far.
Despite being based in Dallas, it looks like the Hostile Contact server has handled TCL the best throughout all of this.
This is the server we all practise on throughout the week.
Currently the plan is to maybe cancel the new server that we acquired and bump Hostile contact up to 30/32 slot
I feel this should easily handle the early 20something racers we have and if worst comes to worst we can fire up the Hypernia server to throw the class 2 people over to.
I am sure Webber wouldn't mind hosting again if this occurance needs to be implimented.
When ATCC88 starts I think we should max the championship to 24 drivers.
Current admin at that time will have preferance when the time comes to register for the series. ie. myself, Benny, Webber, Dano, kwik-kiwi etc etc.
followed by the older regulars like groupc, racer69, shaynskyline, shazam, dano, shano, milo etc etc etc, please don't be offended if your name isn't here, it doesn't mean your not classed as a regular etc.
Will i think be capped to 24 players and I am in serious pleading/debate with Sharyn to go buy some headsets for vent.
ATCC88 will be a pick your car and stick with it ordeal so please pick carefully.
Would also like to reinforce please! bare minimum chat in qualifying and until everyone finishes their races.
Also please!!! would my fellow bus driver please take more care when entering track after a spin. when you do spin please go off the driving line asap until you can re-enter safely and if your getting lapped please don't engage the cars that are trying to lap you.
Anyone who enters track unsafely without care and disrupts other's races will possibly be stripped of points for that round... a example of this is myself at Silverstone in which i immediately withdrew from race after I was guillty of this very thing.

Re: Post Bathurst/s
Mmmmm, interesting comments so far.
Had a licorice allsorts of a race.
was doing 2:25's in praccy which meant bottom end of the field
but was quietly confident the car would be stronger in the race
as Bathurst can really bite if the car doesn't handle well.
The race started a little bizzarely, Wobbly I think got some serious
wheelspin in the M3 (surprisingly easy to do too! ) and
went left into the Alfa's driverside door. Hell corner I then ended
up returning the favour (oops, sorry Wobbly) when the pack
decided to go very slow in front of me, not sure why but expect
someone had run wide,re-entered, and caused everyone else to slow up???
Settled down in 8th or 9th for a while then sat behind the battle between Shayn, Trippy &
Fishfinga for a number of laps preserving fuel (valuable fuel, mmmm precious, lol).
Watched some carnage unfold and ended up, somehow in 5th behind Shayn & Wally.
Laps 12/13 were a bit of a disaster, tyres were wrecked, but I knew I could go with 1
stop only if i kept my fuel burn low. Spun out at the chase & lost time. Coming into
Murrays I saw Trippy stationary on pit straight. Trippy took off again as I went by, but he
couldn't pull the car up again at hell corner. I saw what was happening and went inside to avoid the
fast approaching Sierra. trippy managed to turn the car in, just, but must've caught the ripple strip
or grass & kept turning left into me, which careered me off into the wall at pit exit. I was a bit miffed,
as everyone probably realised, but once I calmed down (after a lap or 2) i understand these things
happen. Sorry Trippy, shouldn't have blown my top like that.
After pit stop came out in 4th somehow??? Wally & Shayn then had their problems & I was suddenly in 2nd.
All good until poor Dave hit the tyre barrier coming into the dipper & i went the wrong way to avoid him. Low impact
hit, but enough to cause the car front end damage. Limped home for 2nd, though, so reasonably happy all up.
From what I observed, handling is far more important than outright speed here. There were some quick drivers
who seemed to get into a lot of trouble with ill handling 'beasts'.
Hope the server is good for this week. It will be heaps more fun (interesting might be a better word) with
everyone on the same server. Gee, what a rant. Catch yas soon
Cheers

Dear, saying we need headsets and me saying well go buy some is not pleading/debate. Go buy them!

Ok I didn't race but I watched the whole thing. My view, and not the view of Wally or any admin, stop the chit chat during qual and don't start until all drivers have finished the race. Also if the admin types in to stop talking they don't need another driver then typing in shhh, shhh. As one of the slower drivers this has annoyed me in the past. Also, while racing, if you stuff up somebodies race then type in sorry, but if you stuff up your own race I don't want to know about it, tell us after the race.
Just have some respect for the other drivers.
Ok there has been a problem with the servers. The admin guys have been trying to fix it. They have come up with another solution and hopefully this will work. Bathurst is being run again. Start practicing again and just get over it and get on with it.
Remember, my views only. Sharyn

Re: Post Bathurst/s
Happy to run Bathurst again this weeked, and once again the efforts of Wally, Benny, Webber & all admins are appreciated
A snapshot of my race,
Qualified 6th, in the top 10 i was third, so was pleased witht he improvement.
In the race, i got a good start and was settled into 4th behind GroupC, Webber & Bersly. Bersly was tantilisingly close, we were runng pretty similiar times though and were both within striking distance of the leaders throughout the whole first stint.
Coming into the (stupidly designed IMHO...even though its been there since 1984 lol) pitlane though for my first stop, i braked too late and got bogged in the sand. I was stuck there crawling out for the better part of 90 secs..... after that i was miles behind the people infront, but drove round consistently... until i wasn't paying attention to my fuel and ran out on lap 21... (for some reason it disqualified me though..)
Either way, looking forward to next week.
PS... loved the twilight finish for the race, hopefully that stays for next week

Re: Post Bathurst/s
Well that was fun...
I came across with Wobblyone, straight from another race with just enough time to miss out on any type of qualifying lap.
Being superpole for top 10 only meant I was pitbound, not that it would have really made much difference.
So when the call came we changed into the backup server & went straight in with only a couple of warmup laps.
I had a better start than past races and managed to slip up from 4th to 3rd in t1. I gave Juan a little tap but didn't seem to hamper him as he soon came flying past on mountain straight. Two corners later & he'd put the Sierra into the wall & let me back through into 3rd. I followed a Rover around for 3 laps before he got it all wrong at the chase and ate a grass main course followed by sand for dessert.
From then on it was all pretty easy as I just tried to stay as consistent as possible. Had a couple of concrete wall "meet & greets" with a little damage but it wasn't enough to warrant fixing it at the stop. By halfway I had 5 laps of fuel left & tyres were still over 50% showing on the XD monitor so I just took fuel and stayed on the same rubber.
Would be nice to have a few more faster cars to race against, but all in all I enjoy this track any day of the week.

was pretty happy with qualifying managed to get 7th after the shootout but was doing better times during the week
got a bit boxed in at the start but got passed dave gibson into turn 1. chased racer and shano up mountain straight but they both ran wide at turn 2 so i squeezed up the inside. had racer glued to my bumper for the rest of the lap, the commo was handling like a pig on hard tyres. passed dan when he spun at the chase which put me up into to third, managed to keep pace with webber and groupc who were having an epic battle and racer was keeping me honest too. every lap i would pull a gap going up the mountain but by the time we got to forest elbow he would be on my hammer again. came into pit and forgot to turn bloody repair damage off so i got stuck there 40 odd seconds. came out of the pits just in front of shano and behind dave gibson. started to slowly catch up with dave when he dissapeared, must of got disconnected or something. caught up to dan towards the end of the race and had a good battle for quite a few laps. had to get a splash of fuel with 2 laps to go so came home in 4th, could of been third without that bloody long pitstop. anyway had a ball again and can't wait to do it again next weekend, hopefully with a bigger field.

Re: Post Bathurst/s
Qualified 17th, so missed the shootout and went into the division 2 race and drew grid 5 out of the hat. Tried to be careful at the first two corners, not everyone managed that, was really happy to be running with the pack for the first two laps, really enjoyed that, then came into the chase too hot and fired it into the sand. Spent 50 seconds trying to get out! Grr!!
Spent the rest of the race driving around by myself. Pitted just before half distance with 2 litres in the tank! Took on fuel and a new set of softs. Late in the race Wally came up behind me, so I let him through, thinking he was lapping me. As soon as he passed, I realised it was for position, should have made him work for it! Then I lost it bigtime at Skyline, went in hard and bounced into Obbzy's path! Luckily, we both survived. Literally ran out of fuel as i exited the final turn and spluttered across the line! I think I finished 6th.
I love Bathurst!

Then I lost it bigtime at Skyline, went in hard and bounced into Obbzy's path! Luckily, we both survived. Literally ran out of fuel as i exited the final turn and spluttered across the line! I think I finished 6th.
I love Bathurst!

Re: Post Bathurst/s
i was so looking forward to this race after the lead up and practice nights. Had had some awsome runs with shano, mozza, trippy so i was confident of having to battle it out from start to finish. It was looking like a big field also... its a pity about the hassles but still great fun all the same.
And to echo the sentiments of others cheers to the admin team for working so hard to keep this going, i also really look forward to sundays race as well as all the practice sessions and greatly appreciate your efforts

Ok Guys as you know we are attempting to get these servers sorted out. I appreicate the offers to contribute to get a better server but we have a good quality australian one. To make sure it wasn't the server wally did go and get another quality Australian server last week but unfortunately we still had the same dramas.
So It isn't the servers that are playing up so we need to look further which we have. These servers run fine all last series with this mod and we have maxed them out in other mods without any dramas. I Believe one of us or maybe a few have something a little different in our TCL installs that is causing the crashing.
So there are two steps we need to look at Firstly is the Skins secondly more drastic look at us all reinstalling a seperate fresh Rfactor with a new TCL on it to eliminate chances of errors. I understand that it is a massive download so what we need we try first is test the skins.
After many many hours as I have never done this have made a TTR Vehicle folder within the TCL mod. This will not impact your installs other than adding a new group of cars. To keep it to a min have only included one skin of Each car that we run so the download is only around 15meg and I need as many members as possible to download. What we then need to do is try and get all of us on the server tomorrow night to push the server to it's limits. With this it still gives us time to take the other step before sundays race.
