Well done to the front runners for this round. Congrats on a good meet. You guys are so fast.

From my POV, eh, was pretty disappointing.

Qualified 8th or so, which is something ill have to get used to i guess. As im never gonna make up 5 seconds more a lap to compete.

The first race was aright, i wasnt expecting much so i managed to stay around my position or so, lost a couple to faster cars who started behind me.

I came in 17th or something.

The second race, my M3 trundled along in 10th for half the race then for the first time ever, you all disappeared (not into the distance as i was expecting) off the map completely . . . .

"Connection Lost". DNF.

No further comment.

On to Trofeo Race de Turismos.

Had a shocker.
Thought the night started at 8pm, so didn't get to qualify.
Then both races the car kept spinning!!! Once in R1 & 4 times in R2???
R2 the tyres had gone off completely by lap 7 (lasted at least 11 laps in practice)
& the car handled like it did b4 I changed the setup
(eg spinning out under brakes into chicane 1), needless to say I was a bit miffed.

Jarama will suit the VK down to the ground.............not.
But we'll have fun trying to keep the 'beast' on the black stuff Very Happy

Shayn you done well to be the leading M3 here in race 1, don't get down because this was the worst possible track for your car.

Your driving is consistent and with practice you'll get those 5 seconds.

Yes I believe I was! Actually I think I was the only kiwi that showed up!
That's a bit of a bummer. Hopefully Milo will be able to make the next round.
Well done Australia.

And well done everyone.
That was a bummer Shayn, you were going well in practise. Next round should be better for you.

Race1.

i can't remember much except that I was trying hard to get my position back off wally at the end but was a little bit too scrappy to make ground up.

Race2.

I started on pole thanks to finishing 8th in the first round.
I started ok, was running in the top few for a few laps and then had the quicker v8s coming through.
I didn't fight particuarly hard with them knowing how quick they'd been in practise.
I kept it tidy till the end mostly keeping an eye on Shano behind me and catching Racer then Berlsy I think it was near the end when they had tyre troubles.
I got past racer when he spun at Ascari but didn't get past Berlsy.

A very enjoyable night thanks all.

Oh cool. Another kiwi on board and I didn't realise it. Glad to have you on our side Greedy. Well done, that makes us look a bit better.

Where you from? I'm a JAFA of the westy variety.

Couldn't find the same pace I had in testing, Quali went ok... Finished up 3rd there and i was confident that my race setup was alot better.

Race 1: I had a shocker of a start, not enough revs and lots of turbo lag and I was swamped, think I was like 7th or 8th into turn 1. From there I had a real hard time getting back through the field, everyone was driving really well!! Had a great dice with Wally for a few laps, in the end worked hard to get back to 4th.

Race 2: Slightly better start for the second race, held my position to turn 1, I got up to 3rd... Car felt alot better on full tanks... Pushed hard early knowing I could get home with fuel & tyres. Everything was running to plan, Webber came past me like a freight train, I try to stay with him but once he got 2-3seconds on me I dropped the pace off to conserve 2nd which is where I finished.

In all quite happy with the result as this track is a hp track, looking forward to Jarama I think some of the class 2 cars will be in the mix this time, shall be exciting!!

nice stories, was looking forward to reading 'em.
great to hear there was some good racing, and no major incidents for people to complain about.

sorry for all the negativity lol. just a LITTLE annoyed at the DC/DNF. as all the practice went to waste. but eh.

I HAD FUN!! (until the DC) and all the practice sessions/races with ppl were great too, so thats the main thing.

A good and bad night for me, still learning the ins and the outs of the Supra.

The car handles well, but is towing a boat ancher in a straightline, so i set the car up for the corners and to be able to ride the kerbs well.

I had a great qualifying run, got all the chicanes right which kept the momentum up on the straight which is where this car lacks, and i got me pole position.

Race 1 - i had to gear the car high which made it slow getting away, really had to slip the clutch, however i got away in third, and got past Dave and tried to chase down Greedy. Got near him on the last lap, but he had too mnuch grunt. Really good race.

Race 2 - Didn't have a great race, got caught up in the pack with the reverse grid. I couldn't use the corner speed too much as i was always behind someone, and was generally dropped on the straights by the Commodores. Had a great dice with Greedy and Bersly. I had to get abit desperate under brakes if i wanted to make positions, so sorry for the taps i gave Greedy and later Shano.

I'm still a Ford man at heart, but it will be a good challenge with this car

I'll be missing the next two rounds as i'm off to the Indy 500, but i'll be back for rd4 at the Nurburgring

Really sad to miss this, I love Monza and really wanted to do this round, but I was driving home from Eastern Creek.

Truth be told, I reckon I had even more fun than you guys on Sunday. Laughing

I had a ball! Great fun - thanks for letting me participate Smile After some dialing in of the car - with help and suggestions from wally and webber, i was quite happy with the cars performance. Didn't have the grunt down the straights to keep up with the V8's or sierra, but it was pretty good - close to the supra Smile Maybe I didn't gear it high enough.

Race 1 was great. I got off to a stonking start, zipping into 1st from I think 4th on the grid. Felt like i false started because it looked like most of the guys in front bogged down, but after doing the exact same thing next race, I think that's one of the things the Volvo is good at Razz (or I seem to cheat...confused). Managed to lead 1 lap Very Happy Alas, I ran wide in the first chicane and was overtaken by Greedy and Racer69. I then managed to hold on for 3rd keeping a slightly increasing distance to 4th. Chasing Racer, I managed to set my fastest lap of 1:57.5!! Finally cracked the 57's.

Race 2 once again managed to monster the start and after locking my brakes into the first chicane (sorry wally) I had squeezed into 1st again. -- Soon to be overtaken though on the back straight and into the final bend. I managed to keep pace with a Berlsy for a bit and as it looked like the Holden in front of him had cooked his tires. Unfortunately I went into the last corner a little wide, and put my rear left on the grass and weeeeeee around I went. Dropped to 7th, and was close behind Shano and Dano for a while. I caught up with Shano into the 2nd chicane - and was a little overzealous with the late braking, and lightly tapped him around (and spun myself -- sorry Shano). Back on track I dropped off the pace and Racer passed me easily a little later. I carried on back in 8th until the last lap - where Racer tapped Shano, and I passed them both for 6th Smile

Great racing!! I love this mod, really looking forward to the rest of the races.
