Bathurst Rd8 Redo
Ok Guys as you know we are attempting to get these servers sorted out. I appreicate the offers to contribute to get a better server but we have a good quality australian one. To make sure it wasn't the server wally did go and get another quality Australian server last week but unfortunately we still had the same dramas.
So It isn't the servers that are playing up so we need to look further which we have. These servers run fine all last series with this mod and we have maxed them out in other mods without any dramas. I Believe one of us or maybe a few have something a little different in our TCL installs that is causing the crashing.
So there are two steps we need to look at Firstly is the Skins secondly more drastic look at us all reinstalling a seperate fresh Rfactor with a new TCL on it to eliminate chances of errors. I understand that it is a massive download so what we need we try first is test the skins.
After many many hours as I have never done this have made a TTR Vehicle folder within the TCL mod. This will not impact your installs other than adding a new group of cars. To keep it to a min have only included one skin of Each car that we run so the download is only around 15meg and I need as many members as possible to download. What we then need to do is try and get all of us on the server tomorrow night to push the server to it's limits. With this it still gives us time to take the other step before sundays race.
The file is located at http://www.ttrracing.com/ttrskinsfixed.rar NEW LINK

SERVER TEST TONIGHT
Hey guys as you know we are trying to track down the Server Crashing and Kicking people Error. So Tonight If possible as many of you as possible can you guys jump on the Server Around 7:30 with the TTR Skin Pack http://www.ttrracing.com/ttrskinsfixed.rar The Server is marked "ttrracing.com SKINTEST" and we can test if the Skins Are the issue.
With The pack the Sierra has error (sorry guys I have never modded skins or directories so have done my best) and isn't working but others appear fine and it will still enable us to test the load ratio to crash. If those running that vehicle please just choose another car for tonight.
if tonight fails again the request to reinstall everyones TCL will have to be made so we can take the next step of elimiating the possible causes of this problem and continue to run this great series problem free.
If we have to go this way To Make this a little easier I have downloaded a Copy of TCL today and taken out all of the cars other than ATCC 87 & 88 BATH 87 & 88 and WTCC 87. This has all the other files for the mod and brings the download back to 500meg which is still uploading to a server and I will make the download link available tomorrow.
Webber and Wally will be there tonight to conduct the test Sorry guys I won't be able to make it tonight as I'm working, unfortunately even If I make it home in time with working out what could possibly causing this problem to making the skin pack and time it took me to work out how, the Hobby time to family time has blown out majorly this week and the Wife is lets say less than impressed.
Regard
Benny

I have a problem when trying to get on the server
I get through the password bit ok, but when it brings up the screen with which to confirm your car choice, its just blank.... I've extracted the download into the right place, but i'm not sure. Has anyone else had this problem?

I installed the first one, then the update
I bought the Supra, enter the password when prompted, then the next screen is just blank, and won't show any cars for me to choose... it still lets me join the server, but kicks me as soon as i enter..... Seems to be just me though, so i'll have another go at it

Re: Bathurst Rd8 Redo
hey, just FYI, i went into the SKIN TEST server this morning and got Mismatches with most of the cars, except for the Supra i think.
i have a clean rFactor and TCLmod installed and downloaded the new link of the ttr group you posted up there.
so yeah. dont know why that is.
i was wondering, when ppl download mods, do they install them and then delete them from their hard drives after?
usually when i DL any mod i install it and then keep the DL saved somewhere, so i can easily install it again later on if i have to without having to DL the mod again. Just an idea.
fresh install of everything for people racing would be ideal in this instance, but yeah, i dont know if thats gonna be an issue for ppl.

Re: Bathurst Rd8 Redo
Ok guys the patch seemed to work for those that got on and no one got kicked , but didn't for those that couldn't even get on. It's hard to say as we didn't fill the server but the custom skins that people were running that shouldn't have cause and issue may have been.
So if people can reinstall there versions of tcl I think that is our best option as well.
As Shayn said I also keep my original downloads so not a issue for me. Has anyone got a issue downloading it for before sunday?
I created a version with only 87 and 88 cars yesterday which would bring the download back to 500meg. If anyone needs this link please let me know
For those that haven't downloaded this in years remember you will need the tcl1.1 patch
Disregard the TTR skins as going this way we don't need them and we won't to keep it as clean as possible.
I apreicate you guys all doing this in the next step to fixing the crashes
Full Version
TCL Series
You Will Need to Download This First Version 1
http://www.fileserve.com/file/M4MdSm4
Then You Will need the update to 1.1 which
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=5RQHWX00
Smaller Version with only ATCC WTCC and Bathurst Cars for 87 and 88 cars
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=Z6FSVCK3

Got er down into the 1m16s.
Sadly I won't be able to make this repeat race. Hopefully there'll be some fair way of divvying up the points from this and last weekend. Best finish perhaps?

I think every car needs two stops... at least in our race last week no one got through on just one stop.

M3's need 2 also. I support 2cps. lol.
in other news,
I got a 2:22.4!!!!! On stock setup with Hard tyres.
Might not be brilliant but after being stuck on 2:24-25, im very happy.

Good work Shayn. Almost replica of Silverstone - back to default and bam, faster lol.
Just as a bit of a though, I loved (LOVED) the all in quali session last week at Bathurst. Reckon it should be like that every week. Just adds another challenge to it all lol!

Re: Bathurst Rd8 Redo
hm, the all in quali was a bit of a surprise to me.
i spent most of the time trying to get into some fresh air, so i didnt hold up any faster cars, and so i didnt run into the back of a slower car.
i guess, its more realistic for us all to quali together, makes it very interesting.
i dont mind really. make it work both ways.

I think there should be no CPS...
if drivers can conserve fuel (and tyres!) to do 1 stop only then good luck to them (er, me, hehehe)
Spices things up a little too.

If you don't drive as fast, you use less fuel, and i got lapped, so i didn't have to go as far.
yes

I only did one stop last week in the Alfa. Was close but still had a lap of fuel up my sleeve.

I agree with this. If you can make it on 1 stop, good luck to you
I vote for just leaving it as last week, 1hr and no CPS
