I'm in. never saw this post for some reason lol.

I was going to suggest a point system that rewards the 'winner' and penalizes the losers. And average for the rest Smile I don't want to look up myself lol but just an opinion Smile

I chose this points system to try to keep it close and keep people interested but, if you want me to run away with the series i can change it.

Only just noticed this but yeah I'm in.

I have a couple of suggestions for the open wheeler mod.

1.f1 71s they are cool to drive although definitely not easy and there a few kiwi and aussie drivers and cars to choose from.
e.g. Brabham car and driver, mclaren car, chris amon, denny hulme, howden ganley, tim schenkin.

2. f1sr 1991 historic edition
this is pretty new but totally awesome.

Had a bit of a look at the f1sr 1991 historic edition mod and started downloading today as it interests me the other one is F1 2010 by WCP series for rFactor which I think mini was looking at (not 100%)

Both of these are a pretty big download for a one of race at this stage. Once the mod is decided I am happy to download and Supply a DVD for everyone that doesn't want to download 500 - 1000meg of download for one race so we can all run this series.

It's worth it if you're into this historic stuff Benny but yeah maybe not for a one off race.

F171 is 350 meg.

But for 91's there are quite a few public servers going.
http://fcmgmods.com/ These guys run a server and just have fun nights. Only trouble is they are US based so you only really catch them on the weekends.

I've already got WCP 2010 downloaded but not installed yet.

Yeh 350 meg is OK but yeh we really don't want to have to download a 1 gig mod as a 1 off event. We need to make a decision soon as people will want a chance to learn the mod especially if they are not use to open wheelers.

Re: Exciting TTR event news COMING SOON

Post by TTR Benny on 11/25/2010, 2:47 pm

I have the 1971 but not a fan of that one. I'm not keen to have a massive download for a one off event but saying that I would rather have a good mod and send every member a DVD that would find it difficult to download. I have enough download free every month for this not to be problem at the moment, although my 6 year old did tell me yesterday that I need to set up google on her PC so she can look stuff up so I guess my download limit is going to head out of my control over the next few years.

To do this we really need Mini if your out there to let me know what mod so I can download tonight and get DVD made and get it in the mail tomorrow for people to have Tuesday Australia probably Friday NZ. This way people have a chance to learn the mod before the race.

Sorry M1N1K0B3 was the only video I could find, I know your not a fan of the Vodafone team but I thought using one of these slower cars it would give everyone a chance to see the track and braking markers being that it is like being in slow motion compared to the good cars affraid

Ok guys the mod is FSone 2008 available at Click Here

And track Available at it isn't gp4 version Click Here

Anyone that would like this mailed out please pm or email at faxcomp@tpg.com.au with your address and I'll get it mailed to you

It's the MP version. It has equal physics and is purpose made for multiplayer.

Has anyone else had trouble with the fsOne2008 mod installer?

As soon as I start installing I get errors saying it can't load a particular file. If I choose ignore I just get the same error for the next file and so on.

re-install...

If the same thing happens then

maybe your computer can't take the graphics. This mod uses a lot of polygons in the models etc etc.

Try lowering your graphics and loading less cars or just a test day with yourself.

____________
and btw devil...

MP is used for Multiplayer and has equal physics and is built to suit and work with Multiplayer especially!

SP is used for Singleplayer and has realistic physics so you must be in the best car to have a good chance of winning and is suit to work Singleplayer...

Hence why i chose the Multiplayer version for the event.

Re install? Na I don't even get it installed in the first place. I think i may have corrupted the file, because of a faulty usb port and a messed up network situation i wound up down loading the file, uploading it to a linux server, downloading to another windows machine, on to my flash drive, then on to my computer here at home.
I think big files don't like being transferred much or something and maybe moving to a different file system didn't help.
I'll try downloading to this computer directly and if i still have no luck I'll grab it off you.
cheers anyway.

I think I've seen a fsone SP server on matchmaker but yeah I agree mp is a better choice.
I chose my fsone 2009 car (torro rosso) by which engine noise I liked best so I'll do the same for fsone 2008.

Sorry i thought you said you finished installing and the error came up.

With the sounds of the Toro Rosso, you can easily find another car with the same sounds or you can swap and use different sounds without having a mismatch...

Problem is i haven't learned how to do that yet Wink

I wound up installing to a temp folder and then copying the files across. So I've managed a little test run in the renault. Loving the grooved tyres squirming around.
