Round 2 - Jerez

I had a great time last night.
Thanks Kwik-Kiwi for setting this up.
It's good for me as i can continue to practice driving different cars and also get some laps on the same tracks as the WTC TCL event the next night

Looking forward to having as much fun as last week....

Hope to see as many on as can make it.... More people = more FUN!!

Great night.... how did yours go??

1st race went for harder tyre to see if i could make the time lost toward end of race anyway - good racing with benny as i fell back through the pack with wrong tyre choice then had a big tank slapper at the final 2 right handers and banged the wall pretty hard, almost collected benny too after that I restarted my pc for round 2 as was still low on frame rate

race 2 was a good race - gained 7 spots on opening lap to chase down kwik kiwi but chewed tyres pretty quick and was maintaining a 2 sec gap between him, a few loose moments saw me drop back a few seconds and then corty joined the party, was defending 2nd was quite an effort and could see him lining me up. good fun racing.

SOFTS WERE DEFINATELY THE BETTER TYRE

I can never set these cars up as well as I can other mods.
The car and I don't seem to gel very well....or I can't drive them.
I started race 1 but stuffed it up at turn 1 which put me behind Yusomething?. It was hard work trying to get past him without punting him off the track. Its almost as if he is using a controller?
Anyway towards the end of the race I had to give up as my shoulder was aching something bad (An old sports injury). I decided to not race the second race and rest the shoulder for the Rover. (Lucky it has power steering and cup holders so I can relax and drink my whiskey...)

Qually: neally missed it as was eating dinner, but got my lap in and put it on poll.

Race 1: Got a great start, tried driving as consistant as I could (as I hav'nt driven these for a while) managed to pull a gap and finished 1st.

Race 2: Not a bad start but not good enough as Kiwi got past around the outside turn 1, then I got absolutly swamped and went back to 6th-7th or so.
Had to work hard to get a couple of spots back and did an early pit to try jump a few as was hard to pass around here. Managed to get back to 3rd after everyone had pitted and was catching Chris for 2nd but as I pitted early, didnt have the tyre for the end.
Well Kiwi & Chris for 1st and 2nd

Had done a bit of practice and worked on set ups with Benny and Chris the night before.

I had a set up of RR1CH0's from last time we ran here.... Usually RR1CHo's sets don't work for me (like they do for him!) but this time it felt good and I was confident I could stay up the pointy end as long as I looked after the tyres.

Tried to keep up with Corty in race one but I run out of talent around half race distance.... extremely happy with 2nd.

Saw Corty get swamped in the first lap of race two and put my head down, kept it clean trying to keep in front...
Didn't seem to put any fuel in at the stop???? and didn't think I was going to make race distance.
As the laps wound down I could see it was going to be extremely close... coughed on the last corner last lap and crossed the line with .1 of a litre left...

Ecstatic with a win...
