Next Sunday (Nurburgring) and the next Sunday TCL series

Hey guys.

Great idea from Growler for next Sunday. The 'tourist' version seems like the most popular choice of Nurburgring track, and a 60min race distance.

It was proposed to have the grid decided by championship order (or was it reverse championship order?) Sounds like a good plan considering its such a long lap when it comes to qualifying. Could i have a crash course in writing a grid in notepad then getting it in game (i've only ever used GridEdit and selected previous race files)

Then for the next series,

David Paterson had a good idea to do a 1986 European Touring Car Championship using the 1986 cars, which are the most even 'same season' cars in the mod. I think it sounds like a good idea, obviously is dependant on how we are going for keeping this place going post-August? I'll start testing the cars and tracks anyway to start planning should we go ahead with the series What are your thoughts?

Ok some specifics for the 1986 ETCC.

I propose starting the season on August 4, and use the 28th July as a test night for the 1986 ETCC cars. Turnouts have traditionally been very poor on long weekends and Bathurst night, so i'd recommend breaks in the calendar on September 2 (Fathers Day), October 6 (Labour Day weekend) and October 13 (Bathurst 1000), this should ensure the best grids at all the events.

Race Formats:

My thoughts for a race format are:

- Spa 24hrs and Silverstone TT were the 'marquee' events in the 1986 ETCC.

We can run Spa as a 2hr race (with x12 time to simulate 24hrs), and run the Silverstone TT as a 90min race, with x3 fuel and tyres.

- The other rounds, use a two race format of a 15min race and then a longer 45min second race, with fuel and tyres both set to x3.

With x3 fuel and tyres , this will force pitstops and some strategy in the 45min second races.

A two-race format also allows someone who's connection might drop out early to start the second race.

Only problem tracks i can find is Brno and Nogaro.

Brno was a street circuit in 1986 and no one has made it as far as i can see.... do we just skip the round or perhaps replace it with some other street circuit of a similiar nature?

Nogaro exists but seemingly not as a single track download?

I've tested some cars on a few of the tracks, remarkebly similiar times can be produced, the Merc will be in there with a shout too.

And managed a 9.57.2 on my first full lap. I just need a few small tweaks (gearing etc.) and the Merc should be ready to go...

Thats the permanent circuit built for 1987 and used to this day. The street circuit was last used in 1986.
I think as you say though this will do and we'll use it (infact i'm pretty sure we have this 1987 Brno permanent circuit in the TTR downloads )

We have Brno on the enduracers server, but the GTR/Race07 version I posted is a much better version in my opinion. (In fact I might see if I can get it swapped over!)

You just have to register with the forum...

We need to work out how to upload to this (ttr) website as everyone is going to need to sign up to get that track ? 
I know some have complained in the past about having to sign up to another forum just get a track   

So being able to upload a track would make things heaps easier for all 

Is someone able to put this track up ?
I havnt been able to get in front of the PC long enough to sort this out.
