Donations for New Servers
Hey all
Just wanted to fill you all in on whats currently happening with TTR-Racing behind the scenes.
As you all know TTR-Racing survives on donations to keep it all up and running, this includes the running of the Servers,
Teamspeak and keeping website going.
The ones that have donated has done a great job to keep TTR alive & hopefully will for sometime in the future.
So thank you all those that have contributed
To this day, TTR have rented the servers from "Hypernia" and recently has changed to "Pure Pings".
The rental of the servers are the bulk of the cost (about 80%) for TTR, so for what we get from Pure Pings is very expensive in my eyes.
Also as a few of you may have noticed, there has been allot of lag in our server as late. I think this has been since Hypernia
has changed to Pure Pings. Its like they have change something ?
I have informed Pure Pings about this, but they seem to dodge that question
I'm currently looking around and I hope to have found a better solution for TTR-Racing.
Ultimately i'm trying to cut costs and at the same time make TTR-Racing an even better place to race.
Hopefully in this process, we can get more race servers up & running, including a full time V8 Supercar server and a full time RFactor 2 server.
At this stage the cost to run the servers is due at the end of August, but hopefully I can get something new up & running.
But will need the funds to get what ever we end up going with anyway.
So hopefully we can get some more donations flowing in very soon
Once again, thank you all that has contributed to keep TTR-Racing alive

Re: Donations for New Servers
Well - the new servers are up and we tested it out on Thursdays Porsche league. I didn't see any lag at all...even at the start where there was smoke and carnage. So things are looking much better!
Anyone having difficulty finding the servers, please go into your multiplayer.ini file and change this line ... Concurrent Server Updates="400" to Concurrent Server Updates="999" .... and save.

Re: Donations for New Servers
That weird alright!
You should have at least 4 folders in there. For example I have Controller, Growler, LOG and Screenshots.
Did you install the full rfactor or rFactor lite? (Although the files are the same for both).

Re: Donations for New Servers
Should be the full version of rFactor I think. I've done a search of my Rfactor directory and doesn't come up with any matches for multiplayer.ini. Does seem a little strange...

Re: Donations for New Servers
Finally found it. Bit of a weird place though, my hard drive is separated into two, a C: and a D: drive. I have rFactor loaded on the D drive because i have more space there but all my other user stuff is in the C drive. which is where i found the multiplayer file. in my documents under an rfactor folder i didn't even know was there!

Re: Donations for New Servers
Hi guys, long time no speak. Just over 8 months actually.
I have literally not turn my pc on in all that time.
I noticed straight away server donations were needed asap.
I chipped in and will add more in the coming weeks.
I'll be back racing soon too
