Round 2 - Misano (17th April)

Qualifying
There will be qualifying for the first race. This will be a 10 minute open session.
You will be allowed 4 laps to qualify. Lap 1 to warm up, 2 x flying laps and a cool down lap. If you go over the 4 laps you will be put to the back of the grid.

Race 1
This will be a 15 minute race

Race 2
The top 8 cars that finish the first race will be reversed for the second race.
This will be a 40 minute race. There is a compulsory pit-stop for this race. You must change all four tires as a minimum.

this will be a good round. demanding track and rewarding with a good setup. Didn't do to badly here in a volvo a few years back so cant wait.

Sure will be but I think the Merc will struggle a bit to keep up with the better handling cars once the tyres go off a bit.

I had a very lonely night, just too slow to race with anyone. The only incident of note was 10 minutes to go in the feature race and the leader caught me at turn 2. i backed off and moved over, but i moved over too far, hit the kerb at the apex and that bounced me in to his path. We touched and both spun. Bugger!

was an eventful race off the start getting swamped in all directions. caught stevo and passed stevo quite a few times fighting for the lead but would then stuff up and let him past again  

Almost chased him down at the end on fresher tyres.

I took myself out of contention pretty early (lap 2 or 3) when I dropped a wheel off under braking for the left hander (3rd last corner), had a gentle spin and had to wait for the pack to pass by. Then overdrove it and bounced it off the armco, necessitating 60 seconds worth of damage to be fixed. I pitted immediately and got it over with, thankfully didn't blow my engine in the long stop (it cooled down on the out lap thankfully).

Then got the head down, made up two spots when Corty and Matt blew up, was chasing down Growler towards the end but knew I hadn't put enough fuel in..... Grrr. Had to pit on the last lap, finished a glorious 7th.

Patto you really need to practice in these things, it's one of the toughest series I've done. I still have a pretty average setup for the Porsche and am miles away from Forbes/Matty and the quick guys in terms of pace......

gutted I didnt make it...... to many beers watching power cruise off the deck over the weekend...... hopefully make the next round
