Round 3 - AE86 - Kiwi Challenge - Timaru - Pre Race

ps what were the general thoughts on the fixed setup guys?

i still enjoyed the racing just as much and driving the car so no complaints here

Wobbly... i love this track... it's another you have to get just right... bit like Teretonga I suppose...

I am quite happy to keep the fixed set up... it didn't level things out as much as I would have liked... but at least pure driving skill has more of a role to play in the races...

i think most of us were pretty close when u look at quali times....just that a simple mistake in these can cost 5 tenths straight away and its very hard to make any time back as the performance is so close, so a few mistakes and ur buggered i recon, ive had to drive perfect races so far without going off line running wide etc to win and even in what i considered a perfect drive in the 30 min race last time out i only got 10 secs on group C whats that race distance wise..........3 tenths a lap?

other option is still to add weight ballast after each race......although not sure how u would decide a max weight penalty etc to suit these cars.....ud have to test it i spose?

I'm happy with the fixed setups. racing was really close. Wobbly's right though, if you make a mistake it penalises you doubly in these cars as momentum is extremely important.

As for evening out the field.

Make the second and third race a reverse grid perhaps?

Also, what Timaru track are you using? coz i get a mismatch when i use the one from the download section here
