2012 v8 Supercar TCL support series
Announcing V8 supercars support series for 2012.
On Saturday nights of the same weekend as the real supercar championship TCL run our traditional V8 Series
This year using any ATCC car in TCL including the new atcc 1990 and the alfa gtv6, one week before the real events we will have our own series. Like TTR's v8 series low traction control and abs will be allowed.
starting the 26th of February with 2x 20 lap races at Adelaide

FANTASTIC idea W26! Some of the world's best tracks, and it'll give us TCL drivers a slight advantage in the V8factor round too

Re: 2012 v8 Supercar TCL support series
so this is going to be run in between the V8SC series races? at the same tracks that they use?
hm, choices, do i run this or the V8 series? Not enough time to practice for 3 series.
And i dont wanna just turn up and fumble around without prac.
Cant imagine turning down a TCL series.

This will be run on sunday nights one week before the real race.
Any other ongoing series will have to have a week off for this.
no need to miss TTR's V8 series as they will be one week after on the Saturday nights as per normal.
Tyres fuel x3
low traction and abs allowed for wooses.
Race distances 1/4 of real deal

hahahahaahahahah crack me up wally... gold
and i think we all done enough practice to be able to jump in a tcl car and run pretty decent times at any track now anyways... so 5 day practice and 9 million laps not really needed....
ban traction control and abs but wrecks it...

Re: 2012 v8 Supercar TCL support series
The traction control option is just enabled to encourage a few of the v8 guys over. They don't spend the time practicing tcl so hence making it available. We find in the v8's that the guys not running it are actually quicker anyway

No red ALfa GTV6 in ATCC.
ATCC '87 had a red Alfa75 turbo
ATCC '86 had yellow Alfa GTV6
BTCC had red Alfa GTV6

Ok well if Racer is going the #18 sierra I'd better team up with him again in the DJR #17 1988 machine! The power is addictive.

I stopped being a Skaife fan when he stopped racing Fords....
I was a huge Dick Johnson fan as a kid, and i remember a 'sporting dislike' for anything Nissan/Gibson/Skaife/Richards related during 1991 & 1992 lol....

Mind you, after the 1992 Bathurst I have a deep seated hatred of anything with Dick Johnsons name on it.....

Peter Brock , great driver but geez..... he had a licence to print money in HDT Special Vehicles (GMH gave him the cars for free, he kept the profits from there) and threw it all away.
Time to dig out Bill Tuckey's book "The Rise and Fall of Peter Brock" i think.

Re: 2012 v8 Supercar TCL support series
Both parties were childish over the polarizer incident(btw is on the new retro hdt vehicle).
The first Brock knew the partnership with Holden was over was when he was on the flight home from overseas. On the same flight was one Tom Walkinshaw who explained to Brock he was on his way to Australia to finalize deal with Holden. Just imagine the rest of that flight!!!!!
Then when a guy from Holden come to see Brock, Brock hid in the toilet for quite some time while the guy waited for Brock's return from wherever Brock's staff told him he was that day.
HDT had thousands of these polerizer's left over after the split and packed them into a VL to dispose of. After a while the VL broke down and for hell or nether they couldn't get it going. So eventually they got another car out and as soon as they unpacked all the polerizer's out of the first car it kicked over and ran beautifully.

Plenty of Skylines available RRICHO, I think there's 3 in the 1990 section. I have one aswell. I think the beaurepairs car is still there. Or go look in the 88, 89 section.
