My lap of the Nurburgring in a BMW M3

Hey guys... Finally got around to putting this video up on youtube, thought you boys might like it. Its from back in June 2010, i went to Germany with a close mate of mine, Rodney Forbes who was racing in the VLN series (still is), and we spent a handful of days at the Ring in his M3... This was my last day in Germany before flying home that night... I had Rod in the passenger seat holding my D90 Camera on the dash while i drove it as hard as i could without binning the thing. If you guys ever get over to that region make sure you stop into the Ring, it is freaking amazing!!

Mate that is a technically fantastic lap, you weren't holding back much through the twisty section Karussel - finish, M3 must be the perfect road car there.

Motorcyclist didn't look in a good way... Also what's with all the Volvos going round like they got lost on the way to the shops?!

My best mate went over there last year and did the Race school in a Clip Cup car. He loved it and it kills all my racing at Bathurst stories.

Its a mega place guys... I spend a total of 4 days over the 2month trip lapping the Ring.
I must of done 10-12 laps in that time, which is alot of KM's!! But its just being there, soaking up the history of the place...

The first lap Rodney took me around in the passenger seat, was mind blowing... He was doing things in the M3 that i'd never do. While that was blowing my mind i couldn't stop thinkin that i'm on the track all the greats used to race on... Stewart, Rindt, Brabham, Clark & the list goes on...

Every day i was there the Car Park was like Car Porn x 100 ... Zonda's, Porsche's, Ferrari's, you name it.. it was there...

There are quite alot of hire car places over there Webb that are setup right near or inside the Ring. Not sure of prices but if you get over to that area but it straight into place number 1 of things to do in Germany!!

Lapping the Ring its just amazing how something like that is allowed, can you imagine rocking up to Bathurst paying your money and going as hard as you like over that 1 lap hahaha never happen!! The hardest part i found in lapping the track was trying to tell myself to use abit more track, in the video thats about as far as i could take it. I had Rodney beside me every lap i did & after each lap we'd go through where i could brake later or turn in later... But the using more of the road was something i reckon you'd have to creep up on. Those walls are mighty close 99.9% of the time!

My fav part of the track is from Flugplatz through till the first Karussell... Mega flowing corners with lots of speed & undulations. I could go on for days about this joint so i better get back to work haha
