I've chosen a powerful, twitchy, rear engined car for a twisty, undulating track with many corners over crests. How smart am I?

I might be able to crack a 1.37 if I clean up the laps...TTR Benny wrote:I see a Few have done some practice for this event Don't Forget we are here Sunday Night 7:30pm
The Porsche spins so easily here though...especially on the off-camber corners.

Re: Pre Brands Hatch 16th September
A great nights racing once again.
You have to be so smooth in the Porsche around Brands as it was easy to induce major over steer coming out of the corners.
I changed my gearing for this track so I could get a lot of acceleration out of the slower corners…hoping to keep in front of the Pantera and Capri.
Race 1
Qualified 1st (I don’t know where that came from!) and had a good start. All was going well until I locked the fronts and ended up driving through the sand-trap on the second to last corner.
Finished 3rd
Race 2
With the right revs you can launch the Porsche without too much wheel spin and managed to get into first before the first corner. I stayed there for the whole race until I locked up at the same corner as before and Corty passed me.
I just managed to get going again in front of Yakuza. It was a big drag race to the finish where I managed to hold him off by 0.33 of a second!
Finished 2nd
Race 3
Again a good start off the line saw me in first position again. I lost it at one point and Corty passed me. He was too quick for the Porsche so I let him go. Yakuza managed to catch and pass me and it was all on.
Great dicing between him and I until he got a back wheel on the grass and he spun. I stayed in second place for most of the race until I locked the front up at the same corner as before…on the last lap. Yakuza took advantage of it and passed me for second place. Totally gutted.
It will be interesting with the points situation. I think Corty has won the championship but the other places are up for grabs!
Monaco will be interesting...

Re: Pre Brands Hatch 16th September
Results are up
Top 4 are seperated by 12 points heading into the final round:
CortyGT - 212
DV_8 - 210
Growler - 207
racer69 - 200
My night was a shocker, for some reason i couldn't get the BMW handling around Brands, and made too many errors from trying too hard. In the last race i got myself bogged at turn 1, couldn't get out for the life of me. It took me 7 laps but i eventually got the car out, and carried on to the end.
Looking forward to next weekend

Pre Brands Hatch 16th September
had a pretty good night, the escort wasn't to bad around here but it struggled a bit down the straights. had some good battles with growler and racer and finished 4thin the first race and 5th in the next 2. think i might stick with the esky for monaco cause the falcon would be just painful round there

Re: Pre Brands Hatch 16th September
First race was an utter disaster walled it early and wrecked both front wheels, then got a drive through becuase i couldn't make the chicne, no steering. Stupid pit crew didn't replace the wrecked wheels, got another drive through because i couldn't make the chicane again, no steering. Stupid pit crew still didn't replace the wrecked wheels. Finished dead last, many laps down.
Race 2 was good, started well and stayed with the pack for the first lap, then fell off and gradually drifted back, tried to keep up with Video, but he was too quick.
Race 3 was a carbon copy of Race 2.

Re: Pre Brands Hatch 16th September
Might need the spreadsheet going for the last round or at least Larko's whiteboard. I had a pretty bad round due to making too many errors. Race 1 I got bumped into turn 1 and it unsettled the car, so I hit a wall. I managed to get up to 5th and then I lost it on the last lap and dropped a couple of spots. Race 2 I think was pretty good aside from taking a little while to get through the field, I came home in 4th. Race 3 started fine but I made a mistake early and lost 10 seconds, I continued on to finish 4th.

Yes I do rememeber that...but at the time I couldn't remember the spelling...so thought Yakuza was fitting seeing you were so menacing in the Pantera...Yukazu wrote:Hey Growler
