NAGT League 2013

The first Tuesday league for 2013!
Information below.

Mod:
NAGT version 1.6.1 + RX8 Patch (This is a sound patch developed by Carpediem ovet at the US Pits)

League Start:
26th February 2013

League Organisers:
Growler and Dano

League Format:
We will be using US/Canadian tracks similar to the format that the real North American GT cars run.
The league will be spread over 10 weeks. There will be 2 races per night. 1 x 15 minute race and 1 x 30 minute race.
Some rounds may be an endurance round.
To accomodate the various time zones, qualifying will be at 8.00pm TTR time with the first race to follow after that.

Cars:
All cars will be available however if one model is dominant over the rest in practice that car may be dropped or weight added (Based on majority vote).

Laguna Seca
Mosport
Vanport
Watkins Glen Long
Road America
Mid Ohio
Road Atlanta
Lime Rock
Orchid Lake
Sebring

Weight Penalties:
There are no weight penalties for this league, however the organisers, at their discretion, can add weight to any specific driver where it deems necessary to even up the field.

Practice Night:
We will be having a couple of practice nights before the league starts.

Teamspeak:
It would be appreciated if all drivers could at least be in listen mode on Teamspeak, for the safety of all.
Please refrain from talking or chatting in game during qualifying. This can distract the other drivers who are trying to set a lap time.

Qualifying:
There will be qualifying for the first race. This will be a 10 minute session. You are allowed 4 laps in total (1 out lap, 2 hot laps and 1 warm down lap only). It is recommended that you don't cross the finish line at the end of the warmdown lap or it will register a 5th lap.
Anyone doing more than 4 laps may be put to the rear of the grid.
The grid for the second race will be made up from the finish postions of the first race, however to mix it up we may run a revers grid race, reverse top 10, or a random draw. Details on the night.

Warmup:
Yes. This will allow everyone a few minutes to cope with anything unforeseen. If drivers are ready warm-up will be by-passed.

Starts:
Standing start
(There will be no race restarts - but this is at the discretion of the organisers or if the majority rule)

Aids:
Traction Control: Low
ABS: Low
Auto Clutch: Yes
(TC and ABS are on low for beginners. It is recommended you turn these off).

Damage:
Damage will be set to 60%

Cockpit:
Open

Setups:
Open

Tires:
Open

League Etiquette:
Maniac driving won't be tollorated

I have been talking to Carpediem over at The US Pits who developed the new RX-8 sounds, and I asked him what the modified rfm was.
He came back saying that the only modification to the engine.ini was a change to the line 'StarterTiming' so the sounds played correctly.
The performance is all from the NAGT mod. Nothing else has been changed.
Although the RX-8 is a very competitive car, we will be running all cars for this league.

But that wont be for an hour or so.
'The links are in the tues download dropdown and the track files are already on the race server so if you don't want to wait that long, feel free to set them up Kiwi. But otherwise I'll let you know when they're up.

Where we'll be racing at tonight is still a mystery, I had trouble setting up the mosport and sebring last night. So we still don't have a track setup yet.

Cheers Dano for setting this up for me.
If we don't get Mosport and/or Sebring set up we will try other tracks.
I want to test Sebring in particular as I will be using the awsome Virtua version - which can have frame rate issues on lower spec machines.

Hey Killer, welcome back, I don't think many of us will have posted a lap at Sebring yet cos it's a brand new track for most.

Hey Killerkeys,

I saw the post by VLGroupA announcing the NAGT Endurance league and noticed that the files were 1.6.1 and the RX-8 sound patch. I can only assume these files would have come from TTR.
Version 1.6.1 is available to the public if you know where to look, but the RX-8 sound patch wasn’t. I spoke to the creator of the patch and asked permission to use it with this league, which he gave.
At his request, and out of a sign of respect, he wanted to be acknowledged as the creator, which we did.
I have no issues with anyone using these files but anyone who creates files, cars, tracks etc for rFactor (Or any other racing sim) deserves some credit.

And 1.07.1? I think you mean 2.07.1!!

OK...That must be the real short version that we aren't going to use.
I assumed you were meaning the difference between using the long hairpin vs. the short hairpin just before the Fangio Chicane.

I haven't done any laps there in the NAGT's. And all going well we will be using the Virtua LM version.
What car are you using?

Im keen to have a go, done a bit of practice just gotta decide a car, NAGT so much easier than the Bimmers at KSR, GTO/corvette wont do pirouettes in slow corners or fishtail under brakes.... Shocked

Welcome aboard. The RX-8 and Volvo seems to be the most stable and competive at the moment.

lol, no way, got two rotarys so why not race one when i hhave the chance, also the hardcore 2hr race was awesome at daytona, i think they'll re run the daytona race as well so i wouldnt miss this, its on sundays at 2pm and finished well before the wtcc tcl league, able to conserve fuel in a rotary Shocked

the rx8 didnt win at daytona Sad

was a mustang that won it so even over long distances theres good parity. the 300c was also in the mix but strategy let it down. no top end for the little mazda but if your able to draft and get a good pit stop then it'll be on the money. had a drive through as my pit was first bay so locked up getting in there quickly but forgot to turn limiter on exiting and it was a right of attrition after that.
daytona was a great track with temp changes through the night catching everyone out at least once.

dean and I raced at gateway in the rx8's,
i couldn't get the tyres to last as long as what dean could in the first stint so that let me down, shifted brake bias all the way to the rear which made for an interesting ride each lap but i managed some better tyre longevity towards the end of the race and through the cooler temps in the middle of the night. allowed me to claw back to 6th.
should get some more guys from here into the enduro rounds at hardcore. they finish well before the sunday tcl races.

well race one in the hardcore champ I got second behind standam who won the race
2 hours is a long race, the night-time changes every-thing

the hardcore server is in brisbane QLD the race started 3pm nsw time or if your in qld it started at 2pm
