Re: Car Selection
I'm going to say Nissan Skyline. At least at this point anyway.
This is going to be very interesting.
Benny and I turned a few laps at Pukekohe,Oran park and Calder park last night. It was very cool as we were swapping places a couple of times each lap.
The nissan had the legs on the straights but the beemer had it everywhere else.

Re: Car Selection
As Dano Said we turned laps on a few tracks and had a ball. I test the BMW M3 and dano the Nissan it was really strong at Pukekohe I managed to get through after 7 or so laps of trying but he drove past on the straight lap after lap finally got enough of a brake to say there (saying this Dano had no laps prior to race or setup where I had just done 15 laps dialing car in)
I ran Wanaroo with Kiwi and were very close lap times with the car he was running I think Rover. Oran park the Bmw was really strong as expected and calder struggled against dano on a track I know like the back of my hand and a car and I had a good setup for. I was loosing a second on the front straight every lap so had to work so hard around the back half to keep up. Once again if the nissan was tuned up and Dano use to track I wouldn't be in with a chance.
There is a couple of other tracks that will suit both sides Fast tracks Like Symmons Plains and Smaller cars will be well suited to Amaroo. I was surprised with winton it is going to be pretty even for both types of cars.
Hence Undersided what to run more testing for me yet before I make final choice but I do like the litle M3

Re: Car Selection
Tried out a couple more cars last night and although I know it will struggle on the fast tracks I'm going to run the BMW M3. I found for me the most stable to drive ad I could do more consistent laps with it

Re: Car Selection
I've found the M3 to be the only car that is easy to drive & capable of being outright competitive.

Re: Car Selection
I don't know I got the Nissan into the flat 14's around Oran park and my best in the BMW is high 13's with it's horse power down the straight it will be competive at most rounds. I think kiwi's rover might be a suprise package to. Saying all that I choose the BMW for the same reasons easiest to drive for me a contender at a few rounds for a win

Re: Car Selection
Yeah in the Skyline I expect Oran park will be my least favourable track although there are a couple of tracks I haven't properly checked out yet.
But if it is then I will at least have fun trying to make it work. My Skyline time there is only just off my m3 time like Benny's. So anywhere else is going to be a case of being consistent.
I do need to work on getting to the end with the front tyres in good shape.
It'd be nice to see someone take a v8 but it's still going to be very interesting with 4s and 6s battling it out.

Re: Car Selection
Well for me it's between the Commode and the BMW. Gave both a decent flogging at a few tracks today and frankly the BMW's much more fun and controllable. I was worried I'd be a lot slower in it on tracks with straights, but I can easily match the Commondore's Calder Park and Pukekohe times. So probably leaning the way of the M3 at this time.
