Re: Round 2 - Donington Park POST RACE
I had a huge day in the shed and finished very late, missed qually and narrowly missed Race 1.
Started RofG Race 2, got a good start, passed a sleeping Beemer off the line, dodged all the carnage at T1 and was up to 14th. A recovering Benny flew by and Nuty got in front, relegating me to 16th, then he disappeared and Grunter passed me then crashed, leaving me all alone at the back and gradually falling further back, before getting lapped by most of the field. Went as far as I could on fuel, then came in for 25 litres and ran out with a lap to go. Thanks to Fez for pushing me to the pits.

Re: Round 2 - Donington Park POST RACE
race 1 and 2 were awesome for me battling with GCA, Racer69, Corty, Deano and Billy during the races. race 1 with the 635 of racer and race 2 with corty was insane, left plenty of room for cortys commo and he left the same which was awesome 5L left in the tank as i crossed the line so another lap and i was screwed.
good to see Billys Volvo get the win, well done.

Re: Round 2 - Donington Park POST RACE
Despite not being able to start Race 1 (got booted just before the restart), I had a pretty good night.
Qualified 5th with a PB of 40.8 which was timely because the competition was very close. It was my first 40 of the week too.
Apologies for the first lap carnage on Race 1 (Start 1), was totally my fault - dated Racer69 in a big way going into 1. Will not do that again. (Proably karma that I got booted from the restart after that indiscretion....)
Race 2, started with the full 120 Litres in 18th, took it easy on the first few laps - didn't want to make a goose of myself and turn someone else around - everyone was very courteous, lots of room given etc.
I then caught a battle with FCDean and Fez, had some great racing there until I had a whoops and semi dropped it, then had to catch them again. Fez then had a giant moment in the chicane and I sort of arrived with everything locked up and further helped my teammate around unfortunately. Hung around for a bit waiting while Fez did a few donuts and got on with chasing the pack again. Took a while to catch Shayn as he was going pretty well, we had a good battle, then Shayn spun coming off the last corner (I hope I gave you enough room there mate..... It was my intention to leave you enough...). Then it was head down and I caught Dean again - and then pitted - didn't fix the damage I had, and threw 113 Litres in. Had a good in-lap and out-lap so I think I made some gains there.
From then on, I just got on with it, drove the rest of the race without seeing many cars and was driving to the gap trying to haul in Racer69 and those ahead of me. I reckon my second stint was probably the best I've driven for along time in terms of consistency. My car was working really well, Racer69 then got caught up in a Fez/Patto collison down at the hairpin, lost some time and I was able to sneak by with about 3 Laps to go. Very happy to finish 5th and only 13 seconds behind at the finish considering the amount of time I had lost in the first stint.
I think I might have found a sweet spot with the Volvo, tried some weird setup tweaks that I think worked OK. I expect the Volvo's will get hosed at Hockenheim down the straight bits, but will see how it all pans out.
Thanks to Aus_chris - I ended up using his gearset idea which worked well.

Re: Round 2 - Donington Park POST RACE
Great nights racing, well done everyone.
I chased Webber and GCA hard in race 1, by the end of the race i was about 2secs behind GCA when he had a lose late in the race which allowed me to slip under into second, but Webber's lead was out to about 5secs by then so 2nd it was with GCA right behind at the end.
In race 2, my car rolled forward on the startline which gave me a drive-through when the race started. I took it at the end of lap 2 and came out behind billy bob, who was driving very well (ultimatly too well ) and i couldn't get a way past.
I made my pit stop on lap 10 and when the pit stops worked through i had jumped up a few spots and was challenging Chrisrx for third place. We had a wonderful dice, very close racing and a few position changes, very good stuff mate, i got out the gas too eagerly out of the last corner though and spun out, which left me back in 5th.
Chris Donnelly was then closing in and although i was pushing on as much as i could, CD was too quick and ultimatly got past me.
A great nights racing and well done to Webber and also Billy bob on the wins
Results and Points for Rd1 at Monza and Rd2 at Donington have been updated on sls

i was as surprised as you to see your 635 facing the wall as you'd been driving really well, left plenty of room for you to have the outside line into the first corner

Re: Round 2 - Donington Park POST RACE
I had a reasonable couple of races in the Mercedes.
I think I finished 10th in the first race, closed up on Grunter at the end but couldn't quite get through.
My strategy in race 2 was to run one set of tyres for the whole race and just take on fuel. Gave me a gap on Shayn but he passed me with a couple to go, but he basically gave it back to me which put me in 8th.
