Yokohama V8 Utes
Ok guy's, i have been assisting the guys that are building a Yokohama V8 Ute mod for rfactor with some real data, names * nicknames of driver's pictures etc.
It is due to be released within the next 2 weeks. What i am wondering is who would be interested in having some practice with this mod if we put it on one of the server's???

Almost there mates!!
Hi dudes!!
Sorry for the delay, but I have been busy with work, my girl (I'm sure she wants to get married and I'm running out of excuses), and this mod of course. But I love to do it. 99% is done by now, we just want to make sure everything works fine. Anyway, here you have two videos, one with each model, just to keep you excited!

Re: Yokohama V8 Utes
cool mod
was surprised with how well they handled. took me a bit to adjust to the new braking markers
loved the ford dash cluster, just like a real one
i have a few constructive criticisms though
i couldnt find the player profile etc icons as they were to light in colour to find, if you know where they are you can find them ok, but i was like where the
and when i went to change to a new mod i had to toggle through them all to find the one i wanted
most other mods have a box to click on and all mods are shown, no biggie though
my computer was jaging out so it was hard to get a sense of speed ??
i cant see anything in my rear veiw mirrors for some reason they face the ground
i was hoping the ford would have the bump in the bonnet you see from in car like a real one has
any way should be cool for a race meeting, i found them better to drive with TC off
i hope i dont sound negative to the people who have worked hard on this mod
way better than i could ever do, top job

have sent you the user interface I was telling you about..... let me know if it doesn't work...
you can adjust the mirrors... hold shift and use your seat adjustment buttons
and yes these are going to be awesome to race at a race meeting
Constructive criticism from me.... you hit the car in front from about a metre and a half away..... quite hard to judge when you are racing hard (aye Kris )... I use bumper cam mostly and you are damaging the car in front when you think you have heaps of room.....

Re: Yokohama V8 Utes
First of all congatulations, this is a terrific mod and am looking forward to run these in a series on saturday nights here at ttr with much anticipation.
Apart from what the others mentioned also the headlights are fine from inside the car but very dull when your in another car in front.
Once again this isn't a whine it's meant as constructive help for further updates in the future as I love these things and can't wait until we start racing proper in them

Re: Yokohama V8 Utes
Ok guys, I had trouble with this mod when i first starting testing with the user interface i didn't see the X and tick button when you go to escape lol. What you can do when you are in the game is select a different mod if you have the Utes installed with other mods then close the game. When you restart rfactor it will have the normal interface then select the ute mod and you will be using the normal interface with the utes. Note before you shut the game again re select the other mod again because if you close in the ute mod it will re-open next time with the ute interface. Hope this makes sense. I had to do this when i was racing a Sprint car mod.
As for the mirrors as Wally said i think just adjust your seat position.
With regard's to actually being closer to another car than it appears i am sure they will look at that, i didn't notice it when testing the beta as i only tested car handling basically therefore i tested in single player without AI.
The steering feels better in this mod without Real feel or leos FFB.

Re: Yokohama V8 Utes
Finally had a decent run of this mod and it is good fun.
I had a run Darwin and it one of my fav tracks and found the car rally nice. It is different and you have to be smooth hasnt got the speed to make it up when you have the car pushing and you loose time really quickly. I think in race format will be fantastic from what I can tell with the little testing i did. I might be wrong but I would think it would e great for new drivers to rfactor as they as long as you drive it straight and don't get the car pushing into corners they will teach guys good sim racecraft
There are a couple of little things I wouldn't mind as options like gearbox mainly but saying that it would probably take away from what the mod has created with good easy cars To drive
Gets the thumbs up for me

Re: Yokohama V8 Utes
The reason the gears are locked is it is based off the real ute series, therefore the gears are locked and ratios based of the real utes. The real utes never use 6th gear even on Conrod Straight at the Mountain. The same reason you cant change a lot of stuff in setup, it is made as real as possible. I agree with Benny that i think it will be a good mod for the newcomer as it doesn't get a lot of wheel spin, if any.

Re: Yokohama V8 Utes
I can't wait until we start a series in these... Benny is right about good for new drivers, watch out fella's when Sharyn gets a hold of these, we already know she's consistant.
If I didn't already promise TCL we would be running wtcc87 in the utes rofl.
Watch out JD because I am gunning for you in these cars

Re: Yokohama V8 Utes
I enjoyed trying this mod out last night.
There was even 7 other people on the server to have a decent race with at hidden valley.
I didn't do so well in the race but in practise I had some good runs with other drivers.
This mod should be great for fun nights or even a series.

Re: Yokohama V8 Utes
This mod will be running in a series form on the Saturdays in between the V8SC Calender. It may not be ready to go the week after Wanaroo but if it isn't we will run a fun night with it then.
Unfortunately guys the utes are now off the server and Wanaroo is back up for practice for Saturdays race.

That's it, thank you all, a lot! We know the mod have a lot of issues to solve, but in the near future we will try to fix all details.
Thanks again. Cheers from Argentina!

V8 UTEs Patch 1.1
OK guys! Here's the final patch for the Yokohama V8 UTEs Racing Series MOD by SAF!
Changes made:
Added advertise in the inside top windshield.
Mirror's angles fixed.
Models "lenght" fixed. Now you can collide your opponent in a more realistic way, haha!
Cockpit camera position, edited on both models.
Added somo more steering angle for those who found it narrow.
Drivers wanted me to fix the grip and the tyre ware rate, so, it is fixed (hopefully)
Excesive brake hiss fixed.
Head lights color fixed.
And some other minor changes.
Ok, that's all. Now this amazing mod is finished. Enjoy!
P.S.: To all the people who keep sending me mails about changes in the physics, PLEASE STOP!! hahaha!
Really, stop. If the real drivers found them accurate, and they only wanted me to change the tyre ware
rate, that means the rest is good, so, any changes you feel this mod needs are irrelevant.
Cheers from Argentina!

Unfortunately they have not changed the front hit box...........
Just had a run around Teretonga and fried an average of an engine every 3 laps..... they just don't like any over reving on the downshift....
Had to change into a Holden and fry a few engines just to make me feel better

As much as I do enjoy this mod with the front hit box not fixed I can't see how we could run this mod in a league series
