No point running a night with 3 on the track
Unfortunately I think RF1 is well into the dying stages, I mean if "Bathurst Legends" cant pull some numbers, it really proves it is pretty much dead.
Also starting to think that the "Legends of Bathurst" mod may be a waste of time ?
Everyone may think its a great idea, but no point if no one makes a show
Does have the answers

Re: 2015 Bathurst Legends - Round 7 - Bathurst
thursdays just aren't good for me. plus the charger is a dog and unless its just a single make xy falcon series then anyone not driving a falcon is basically going to struggle for a podium.
That is why a revamp of some physics with legends of bathurst is crucial to try and make 3 or 2 tiers of racing in one as well as the addition of a heap of new vehicles to RF1.
I don't think RF1 is dead yet but new sims are getting close with content being added rapidly now however everyone is split between a lot of various sims (RF2, AC, Iracing, PC to name a few) now as opposed to back when rf1 came out.
i think a bigger rotation of mods alternating on sundays and possibly a shift to a friday or saturday night racing may attract a few racers. some nights do get hard to find time to race and have a balance with other family stuff.

Re: 2015 Bathurst Legends - Round 7 - Bathurst
I did jump on for Thursdays race...but was a little getting home.
Yes...I don't think rF1 is completely dead, but the fact of the matter is, is that a lot of the communities are switching to rF2 and Assetto Corsa.
For example ORA's last rF1 league finished a few weeks ago, and they have made the transition to AC and rF2 moving forward. I believe JFF are running their first fun AC league as well.
I'm hoping the next TCL league will bring back some numbers (Especially if I can entice them with the Jag and R32), but it will be a good gauge of what interest there really is.
Who has rF2 and AC here? Maybe we do look at a fun league with rF2 and/or AC on Thursdays to gauge interest.
Although Project Cars is fun, I don't think there would be many leagues being organized for it.

You can always offer to run a league...

Re: 2015 Bathurst Legends - Round 7 - Bathurst
I don't think the length of the leagues we run are to long, as I've raced in longer here & else where in the past and had good numbers right the way through.
Saying that RF1 was one of the only games back then and ! the "core group" was allot bigger and more "dedicated" to the game.
These day we have no more than 5 dedicated people that show up week in week out to race nights no matter what, the rest randomly show up for a nights racing, then disappear for a few weeks.
I know people have real lives to live, but that never used to stop people from showing up to race nights and not to mention the ones that used to practice all the time, where as the these days its pretty rare lol.
TTR very rarely gets new comers joining up anymore and when they do they don't hang around long anyway lol.
TTR's core group needs to grow to at least 15 to 20 people that will show up no matter what !!
Numbers always attracts more numbers.
(IMO) The only way this will happen now, is if we go to another platform. Question is which one ?

Re: 2015 Bathurst Legends - Round 7 - Bathurst
I Do think they are way to long.. look at sunday night.. that's almost 6 months long! that's 6 months of racing fortnightly with the select few ppl who have that mod unlocked and are interested In the historics meaning no one new that's local has the possibility of stumbling on ttr and joining a race with out all the effort of configuring shit
also I lost interest in BL recently because I have the personal view that the tracks gave falcons the advantage thus being pointless for me who is a torry fan to race.
also I would rather race to laps not to time or maybe even like the v8's do and race to a set distance so if 20km is x amount of laps for that track then that's our laps. im not dedicated enough to sit there and work out how much fuel I need make the time.. I rather it just be plane simple so the racing remains fun.
i do think its time to let rf go.. .its had its dash.. let it die an honorable death
lets jump on rf2 or PC(im not a fan of accetto)

The idea of Sunday nights was to mix things up by running that series fortnightly, along with the other series on the other fortnight.
Growler was running the BMW's the opposite fortnight and had something lined up after that, but a couple of weeks in no one showed up to that either, so it was cancelled & was the reason we decided to go race in the Ausfactor series.
So it wasn't like we were running the same mod week in week out, there was a variety there with Bathurst Legends on the Thursday as well.
So there was 3 different mods running, the Historic series was pulling the most numbers and still is out of the three.
There are still clubs pulling good numbers with RF1, but mainly with the V8 mods.
After the Historic series is finished, Growler will be running the TCL mod again, but I think any other night should be a different platform, maybe trying both RF2 & Assetto Corsa, first with the cars that come with the games.
I'm also a fan of laps over a timed race.

Just did 2 x 20 laps in AC with the Japanese GT500 cars over at ORA. I wasn't a fan of AC when it first came out, but tonight's racing was bloody good!

i do like the indycars and GT3 cars in RF2. start by doing some GT3 enduros. doesnt need to be a championship to start with, just some one of organised races and people will show up.
