Re: WTCC Rd 2 Pre Jarama rants
wow.
driving on Jarama makes Monza seem like it was lined with velcro.
its alot less grippy and very easy to spin yourself off the course. lol. gonna take some getting used to.
seems the author thought the times were too fast so he lowered the grip to make it more realistic.
this is going to be innnnnnterestinggggggg. hehe.

Re: WTCC Rd 2 Pre Jarama rants
Only Volvo was Simonsen bro's.....and that didn't finish..... I shall be happy to set the record straight.....maybe....
Had a quick go yesterday. As shayn says - extremely slippery. I've had a go on this track on GRID, but rfactor is a whole different ball game
As with last race - anyone got any tips for setup? I'm only just starting to understand what some of the bits do
Cheers guys, had great fun at Monza

Sierra feels alot better here than at Monza... setup is race ready, maybe to few more tweaks to extend tyre life... Best lap so far is a 1:41.2

how do your tyres hold up wally?
the sierra eats the left hand side up. so hard to put the power down too.

Re: WTCC Rd 2 Pre Jarama rants
Quite honestly, I would of used jarama 79 because this track has no grip.... but i think to get 79 jarama you have to get the whole set of 79 tracks.
I ran softs last night with a 8 lap race with Dano.
Dano is really struggling at this track with the bigger car(Mustang)
My tyres were ok over the eight laps
Guys I will do my best to update the registrations again today sometime.
The maximum is twenty and we are getting close so if your thinking of running and havent yet registered, get in quick.
A lot of the time we won't have all 20 and we can let peeps in but if we get a full field one night, we might have to kick unregistered people to accomondate the registered.
Today, I will try to get out and get a mic for vent because if we are getting fuller on the server we will need vent to serve those registered drivers trying to get in.

Re: WTCC Rd 2 Pre Jarama rants
i thought the track was really bad at first, real hard to get any grip but you can fix it with a good setup.
i have the Jarama '79 track. I downloaded it from NoGrip a while back. I havent installed it so i dont know how it goes for comparison to the one we have.
i dont mind this one though, bit of a challenge but its not too bad.

Re: WTCC Rd 2 Pre Jarama rants
Managed a 1:43.5.....but it was with the tail out on nearly all the corners. I've tried reigning in the oversteer, even making the gearing higher at the low end so I don't spin the tyres so much, but nothing is working!! Ugh...If anyone has time to have a go at a volvo setup, I'd be much obliged. Around this track it feels like a normal 240 - a tank! At this rate I'm going to do about 4 laps before my tires are done I'll have another go tomorrow eve
Re: WTCC Rd 2 Pre Jarama rants
Having seen video of Jarama 79 and of real life Jarama onboards, our track is a much closer match to the actual track. Very well modeled, I was impressed.
By the way, to noone in particular, walk a mile in the shoes of the Commondore before complaining about your car's handling at this track.
It corners like a wet dog on lino.

My BMW is shocking too Webber
It turns in when you want it stops in a straight line doesn't use tyres up and must be part hybrid with the fuel ecconomy know just how you feel as Im in the same vote as you

Unfortunately too true. I can get grip on this track... the only thing is that the tyres then last about 2 laps!!!
It's gonna be an effort just to get to the chequered flag me thinks!

Re: WTCC Rd 2 Pre Jarama rants
so ah, i got a bit bored and decided to mod my M3 a little.
things i changed:
- Changed M3 badges to the M style ones.
- Clear Fog Lights.
- Added Boot Fuel Door.
- Shaynboro decal set.
- Black edges of Red vinyls
- Better bonnet/boot pins.
- Higher Res BMW badges.
- California M3 plates.
- M3 License plate surround.
- Red HKS light stickers.
- Brand Decals
- Tinted tail lights.
Some pics.
Now, you wont be able to see this ingame cos you dont have my .dds file.
Unless . . . . . you go here: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=QMRXVT7A
and grab my .dds file and chuck it here:
x:\Program Files\rFactor\GameData\Vehicles\TCL\BMW M3\WTCC87
and replace TCL87W43.dds, with the one in the link.
(PLS MAKE SURE YOU BACK UP YOUR ORIGINAL FOR WHEN YOU ARE SICK OF IT, OR WANA RACE THE CAR IN ITS ORIGINAL FORM LOL.)
unless you cant be bothered and dont care. lol.
carry on.

Re: WTCC Rd 2 Pre Jarama rants
haha. well then im the series champion that means.
the best i have managed in the M3 is 1:44.6 earlier today. And that time was during an impromptu race with a couple guys on the server.
funny how you go faster when someone is chasing you.

Re: WTCC Rd 2 Pre Jarama rants
this is my favourite pic.
Notice the TTR logo on the sign in the back ground.
Its a designated spot for logos in the track folder. So you can chuck whatever you want on there and see it during the race.
Its awesome.

I'm happy with the set-up of my car, but I've only done a 1:52 I really need to lift my game.

Ok, well, the best i can manage in the M3 is a 1:44.2
i think ive done about 200 laps today, srs.
Just cant go any faster no matter what i do, so, just gonna have to leave it at that and hope for the best in the race tmro nite.
Looking forward to the race, but not really, cause it is gonna be "interesting".

Re: WTCC Rd 2 Pre Jarama rants
Finaly Did some practice the little BMW is pretty good but won't be fast enough in my hands I managed 1m45 with the car setup working pretty well. It certainly is a slippery track glad I'm not trying it in one of the commodores. Not sure if I'll make it tonight but will do my best to
