HQ Series Details

Like Big Kev used to say.. I'm excited!!!

I think this series is gonna kick up some great close racing & i think a few different winners could be on the cards too. I decided on the reverse grid race mainly so if you have a bad Race 1 your straight into the action in Race 2... Can't wait for Tues!!

Haven't had a spin in these yet. Are they anything like the holdens and fords we raced a few series ago? Them things were a handful.

Should be good judging by Benny's excitement.

Just had a little run with Dano... Make sure when you select your car to upgrade from the 3SP transmission to the 4SP... They feel a lot nicer to drive at the OUTA CONTROL speed the HQ's do hahaha

1:30.3 is my best so far... test away guys... its gonna be door to door racing at its BEST!!

IRL HQ racers only have a 3 speed. Should we stick to that, in the interest of realism?

Whichever makes them more enjoyable to drive I say.

Yeah we had this little discussion last night. It was the same over here when we had HQ racing, only the 3 speed was allowed.
I didn't actually try it out, I went straight to the 4 speed.
I'm kind of sitting on the fence cos I'm all for the realism bit but I assumed 3 speed was going to be a bit frustrating.

I can Go Either Way as long as everyone is the same as the speed is different. The biggest problem with the 3 speed is I don't think I can stop people picking the 4 speed from a server point of view.

The gearbox used shows up in the server list. the thing bout the 3speed is good but its easy to blow the engine in these, so maybe turn down the engine wear and run the 3speed. spaz and KDSR are running an HQ series starting soon if anyone wants in, they were using the 4speed box with engine wear/damage? quite high. it got quite hot and was smoking a bit due to overreving the ol girl.

I'm not fussed... i was only thinking going from DRM to a HQ with a 3sp people might get frustrated... The 4sp was better to drive in my opinion, but yeah i'm happy to go whichever way. But i think from a racing perspective we all should be using the same box

Currently buying a house so ive left my wheel and rig at work. Might see if i cant stay back late on Tuesdeay to race (wife pending).

Had a few laps before work this morning and only managed a 1:31.200

hey all im with kwikkiwi what box r we using can we put it to vote or to be realistic just go the 3 speed ????????

I did some more testing and I think even though it is not the original option the four speed for the first round is the best option. Happy to revisit for round two and onwards but to allow people to get ready four speed for round one

Is there still a place available in this series??

Agree completely!

A full field of these steaming up and over the hill at Amaroo was quite a sight.... not all them reappeared when the cars came back into view at Mazda House lol

P.S - If anyone tries out this mod and thinks "oh man this is rubbish", like i did. Give it a chance. Do 20 laps or so and it gets much better. I was on the server for like 5 hours tonight. A bunch of us were doing laps for ages. Its great following people bumper to bumper racing.

Had a couple great chases with Billy Mozza and Floydie. If i didnt have to sleep id still be there. lol. Good call on the new series for tuesdays.
Gotta see how the races go. But i think it'l be a winner.

Its White/Grey, Yellow and Black, in a lightning styled theme.

Trying to get registered for the series (SLS is a mystery to me still it seems).
Also, I have to do a fresh rfactor lite setup just for the HQ's as it doesn't want to load at the moment.
Once that's done I'll have a look at skins.
