regarding dtm tcl series

in orig version there was only 3 car makes to choose for the dtm 87 series we gonna run...

but with the new 87 dtm addon pack there is now alot of other cars that can be chosen....

are some of these gonna be allowed... cheers... tcl gonna rock in 2012 guys...

I'm only guessing, Wally will confirm, but i assume the new cars from the add-on pack will be able to be used.

I thought that was the whole point of choosing DTM'87 , to race the new cars.

(I've already changed the RFM on my offline TCL to have a DTM '87 championship with the correct tracks in the correct order). Nerd alert!

What exactly are the the correct tracks? And are we gonna be using them for the series?

the german airbase ones? and salzburgring, diepholz etc?

or we just gonna use the usual suspects?

id like to do some testinggggg.

Rd2 - Zolder
Rd3 - Nürburgring
Rd4 - Avus-Rennen
Rd5 - Mainz-Finthen
Rd6 - Norisring
Rd7 - Nürburgring
Rd8 - Wunstorf
Rd9 - Diepholz
Rd10 - Salzburgring

Only ones i'm not sure are out there are Wunstorf and Mainz (though i think i remember it being a WIP)

The first Nurburgring round was on the Nordschleife, so i'd assume we could use the 'Nurburgring Sprint' layout if we didn't want to run the full 22km layout.. The second Nurburgring round was on the normal GP circuit.

We could do a race on the Nordschelife and just keep it to 1 or 2 laps.

I wouldn't mind skipping the long run nurb', I know everyone isn't a fan of the track, and we wanna keep people on the grid for all the races.

Needless to say I would LOVE to have it as a round.

I love the airbase circuits also, so hopefully they get included.

Gonna be a sweet series. Just have to decide on a vehicle. Hmmmmz.

Yep the Latest DTM87 carset addon is the cars we will be using, be aware that I found a small error in the Veh files and if you got them early on there has been a small upgrade again

I'd rather neck myself than run on the Nordschleife. Ever.

I can't wait for this series to begin, should be some good battles, all the cars are fairly close

As for Wunstorf, an alternative could be the Hungaroring, as the DTM raced there in 1988.

I was leaning heavily towards the Alfa. Although its got the same power as the Merc and M3. But probably less handling advantages.

The extra KW of the 635 might be out weighed by its 200 odd kg extra.

I think a Volvo is looking pretty good.

Been doing some testing at Zolder. And i love the Alfa and the Volvo there.

The cars are so even. I cant pick lol.

not really about how much extra puff the 635 has... has been proved in previous rounds that it runs pretty much with the m3s and others just the same...
and at the end of the day the car can have as much puff as it wants ya still have to be able to drive it at the end of the day...
jump in a fast sierra and you will understand that yeah its fast but it aint ever a easy race in those things....

Yeah, there was a v1.1 released about 2 weeks back, the reason being that the second #30 Alfa wasn't put in the first download (also the #22 Alfa gets a slight livery tweek)

Ill have to have a look, might swap liveries if its any better than the toshiba one.

Did you install 1.1 over the top of the original, or delete the original? I just installed 1.1 over the top, and seem to have all the cars.

I only have 6 Mercs and no Escort. I just unpacked the 1.0 & 1.1 and compared them back to back. The only difference is the Alfa folder in 1.0 has 4 635s in it, the same 4 that appear in the 635 folder.

I just d/l again from the FB link above and still the same, no Esky and only 6 Mercs. Can you guys check that you have 9 Mercs and an Esky and can you advise car numbers, I'll check if there's a double up.

OK, i have got to the bottom of this, You guys are correct and have the right version

I originally uploaded the new add-ons to my offline TCL install, forgetting that i had previously merged the '86 & '87 DTMs in there to do an offline championship, so that is where the extra Mercs and a Escort come from.....

my fault completely and I owe you all a beer!!!
