Re: TCL V8 support series pre Adelaide:
I'll miss the opener next weekend as i'm at Bathurst for the 12 hour, but will be back for Round 2 onwards
Thats a great gesture Shano given i'm missing the opener, i'll be fighting even harder to make up the lost ground!

Re: TCL V8 support series pre Adelaide:
Skyline feels great around Adelaide which is surprising. Pretty confident in getting a good result with it this week. Gonna be awesome to be back in the beast.
Dunno what you did to my car RR1CHO, but it slides all over the place, takes 3kms to break and accelerates like a slingshot. Its awesome, never seen the 31 like this before.
Maybe I'm just too used to the Alfa.
Looking forward to trying to keep the nissan off the walls.

Having said that though, ill probly stack it into a wall and take out four or five cars.
Maybe ill sit off the pack a bit this time, I don't wanna call any more restarts.
Hopefully everyone makes it to T3 alright. Fingers crossed.

all i have done is make it turn better and adjust the gear box, played with the suspension but nothing i did changed how it felt, and as with all mods i go soft suspension and hard antiroll
But even i was impressed when it drove like an absolute weapon..
glad you like Cheers RR1CHO

Well I suck at setups lol, that's no secret. So yeah, yours is about 1 second better than what I came up with so far.
Not sure abt the Sierra time tho. I have a decent skyline setup for the mountain. But ill give yours a bash.
You gonna stick with the Nissan?

Judging by the latest TCL teaser pics on facebook, you Nissan punters might get a nice surprise sometime during this year
Really looking forward to this series and how it pans out over the course of an actual year of racing

Re: TCL V8 support series pre Adelaide:
GTR eh?
Not sure having a car with more power than the Rs500 going around is a good idea?
just saying.
I LOVE all things Skyline, but getting smashed repeatedly by a GTR all the time would get old fairly quick.
Any info on the numbers it will have?

Don't think the physics have been done yet. I think it would be fine, the car is pretty heavy and as hard on tyres as the Commodore's... was a part of Group A anyway so no reason not to include it if it is available later on down the track. Seeing as your in a Nissan shayn, i'd assume you would be one of the guys eligible to try and do the smashing

Re: TCL V8 support series pre Adelaide:
i dont think i'd pick it tbh.
just jump in a GTR and start winning races. not that it would be that easy, but it'd be hollow victory.
While its frustrating to not challenge further up the grid, the struggle is good all the same.

Re: TCL V8 support series pre Adelaide:
There was only one GTR in 1990. In the case it does come out before seasons end and we can swap to it I think the highest placed Nissan driver should get the choice.

at the end of the day the m3 still beat it anyways so i doubt it will dominate every race... the sierra does not dominate every race now...grp c proved that last series lol... so i doubt zilla will...

Re: TCL V8 support series pre Adelaide:
QQ, is there a difference between x3 fuel usage online and offline?
I pitted in tonights race, cos the gauge said it'd only do 12 laps. I was told this is wrong.
And that people didnt pit. And made it on one tank. Fair enough.
I just did an offline 20 lap race against the AI. Ran out of fuel on the last lap. And i was short shifting the last 5 laps. Prolly woulda lost like 4 places in a real race.
Not looking good for doing it on one tank.

Re: TCL V8 support series pre Adelaide:
Yeh nah sometimes you probably should shayn.
If I'm honest, I object to it.
So what if you've gotta pit. I don't care. You picked the Skyline. Drive faster and gap the field.
No CPS.

Re: TCL V8 support series pre Adelaide:
Hey let's not make this abt me ok lol. I was just asking a question that's all.
Like you said mozza, I picked it so if I have to pit then so be it.
Hardly anyone had to pit last night so I don't want it changed for 3 cars.
And i didn't ask for it.
See how the poll goes, but I'm not complaining either way.

Re: TCL V8 support series pre Adelaide:
do they pit in real v8 taxi race?? like at adelaide...? if they do maybe we should also...
pittin on lap 1 then makin a charge with clean rd or splittin it half half.. or doin a last lap pit for a litre no tyres sort of adds to it all hey...
not bother me if we have to pit or not... maybe first race full sprint then race 2 mondotory pit stop......????????????????????

The V8s do pit, but its because they can't make the race distance without it, not because of a CPS.

Re: TCL V8 support series pre Adelaide:
switching to 4x would make it more like the V8s... those things chew tyres and fuel like a G6.
up to wal though whether that would make it more fun or not...........

Re: TCL V8 support series pre Adelaide:
As we are doing approximately 1/4 of real race lengths, most rounds won't need pitstops at all(unless 4x suddenly makes a killing in the poll).
Sandown and Bathurst will be 40 laps so all cars will need to pit at those tracks.
skyline is a great car to drive if the setup is right so stick with them guys.

Re: TCL V8 support series pre Adelaide:
I just did a 20 lap offline race and rolled over the line. I started short shifting with about 3 laps to go. So I'm confident I will make it home by knocking off some revs each lap. Very easy to make a mistake around the concrete jungle so running a conservative race sounds like a plan.
