Sorry for missing the other race at Sandown guys. The mes took me out and we had a ball so sorry.
This event will be interesting to say the least. I'm not a big fan of the F1 cars so I'll be content to run around at the rear of the field waving to cars that lap me.

Well I'm getting the hang of these cars now, my front wing has been producing downforce rather than acting as an obstacle for other cars, but jeez they're tough to set up.
Minikobe be honest, what's your best time around Albert Park?

Haha. Both of you may have the righter way...until you crash. haha.
In all honesty guys I'm not going to get much testing between now and Saturday so I'll be on a default setup probably.
As for miniks actual lap time I'd say somewhere around the 1:26-1:28mark.

I got into the 1m29's found some consistent pace around high 29 early 30's. One thing everyone I can't see a thing in my mirrors I assume everyone else is the same so everyone please show some caution and maybe wind up your other vehicle sounds so you can atleast here people coming

There might be a way to adjust the mirrors actually, I can remember it has something to do with adjusting the seat to its limits and maybe holding shift?
Edit: There's adjustment in your PLR file as well, but it's text only so trial-and-error. ../rFactor/userdata/your name/your name.plr

If you hold shift you can move them with the seat up and down. I going to try tonight moving them out as can only see people when I'm going around the corner. Also going to look and see if I can enable middle mirror up the top would solve my problems

Re: Round #2 Pre Race chat FSONE 08 / Melbourne Albert Park
ok Found this today changing username.plr file
From
Allow Rearview In Swingman="0"
Virtual Rearview In Cockpit="0"
To
Allow Rearview In Swingman="1"
Virtual Rearview In Cockpit="1"
Hopefully may be able to enable a top centre mirror to give me a chance of seeing people coming as going to be lapped a few times.
Will also try Moving mirrors out with the Shift key Held tonight as I did adjust the seat height and moved forward to try and see properly
If all these fail will have to configure a look back button So I can try keep and eye on people coming
Won't be home to late to try but will let you know how i go

Or you could just use the bar that shows the relative positions of cars on the track to you (pressing 4 I think enables it). It usually comes in handy for me anyway.

Re: Round #2 Pre Race chat FSONE 08 / Melbourne Albert Park
Disregard previous message for PLR edit this gives you the third centre mirror
Orginal
Rearview="3" // 0=Off, 1=Center and Side, 2=Center only, 3=Side only (virtual mirrors only, in-car mirrors are on/off)
Change To
Rearview="1" // 0=Off, 1=Center and Side, 2=Center only, 3=Side only (virtual mirrors only, in-car mirrors are on/off)
For me feels heaps better knowing I can see someone making a move so not to effect there and my race

Re: Round #2 Pre Race chat FSONE 08 / Melbourne Albert Park
Yeah i was wondering that myself about the look behind button.
I've got it mapped to a button on my wheel.
I was too afraid to race properly before I found you could map the look behind button.
I'm wondering if anyone has experienced anything like this. I think I have a problem with my steering wheel.
If I make contact with a wall or another car (i.e. force feed back rumbles the wheel ) or even just make a quick movement on the wheel, one of the endpoints seems to reset itself.
So I'm left driving the car as if it has broken steering. i.e. it doesn't steer straight.
But then when I go around the next corner assuming it requires full lock the wheel seems to recalibrate itself similar to the way it calibrates when I first leave the garage after loading the game.
It ruined my 2nd race at the last round of the v8 supercars.
Is this a problem with my wheel? Or is it rfactor? It seems to be getting worse.
I may have to install toca3 to see if I get the same issue there.
If it turns out to be the wheel I'll order a g27.
