Round 1: Wellington 20th May
Post away guys... I'm heading on the server tonight to start sorting out the Alfalfa.
Would be good to get some input as to the race format. One longer race, or a short and long?

Don't forget to grab the latest skinpack: http://www.ttrracing.com/admin/mods/Dave&Racercombinedskins.rar

Yeah definitely intend to check out Racer's and DP's 635s tonight, will be great if a few are on to check they don't cause the crash.

Benny has sorted out the server issue & times are back up on Liveracers.
Don't forget that your quickest time on liveracers will set your grid placement!!

Sprint Race - 10 minutes
Feature Race - 45 minutes
Both grids set using times from same car in LiveRacers - meaning if you go quicker in the Sprint Race that counts as well.
Fuel & Tyres x3 - will need to pit in feature race.

Re: Round 1: Wellington 20th May
I've come to the opinion that the 635 isn't a fast mode of transport. Gonna take a few events to adjust to it, having been booted by Mercedes-Benz management.
Perfect example, t2 hair pin. In merc I could drive out foot buried, 635 tries its best vk power slide lol.
Challenging days for Moz ahead.
Also, where is shayn. Anyone heard or seen him?

Re: Round 1: Wellington 20th May
Hello Sirs.
Thanks for the messages guys, im fine.
Just a few things more important than rFactor going on at the moment.
I might be at Wellington on Sunday, not sure yet. I will be back though.
Just got some things to take care of away from the PC lately.
Also, from now on i'll only be racing in TCL races on Sundays. I've been spending far too much time on rFactor in the past few months. Practicing for 4 or 5 different races, just taking up too much of my time. I realised this after Barbagallo, sorta hit me all of a sudden how much time i had been putting into online racing.
I got the 2/3 wins that night, was pretty happy with that, but it was all over by the next morning, so i was like, hm is this it? This what i been doing all this work for?
So yeah, just gonna take a step back from it and take it easy. Do a few hours a week practice and have some fun on Sunday. No more 3 or 4 hours a day bashing out laps, it was getting ridiculous. I know it got me wins eventually, but it just didn't seem worth it in the end.
Thats my little story for the night lol, happy racing guys, and ill see you out there soon.

Re: Round 1: Wellington 20th May
Growler - a quick qualy session and a warmup at 7:30, so the race will probably be closer to 7:45 start.
Shayn, hope you're alright mang, and you need to give yourself some more cred for winning! Pop some champers or something! Hope we see you Sun.

Good to hear you're still alive anyway, Shayno.
Goes without saying that people should remember their SLS registrations before the race tomorrow!

Current qualy grid (assuming quickest times are in the car you're running - will work this out before the race).
I went karting today so can't wait to thrash the GTV6 around!

Nah, I'd better stick to what I said - the times from the whole week will count.
Shano we'll figure this out. You've already tried resetting your modem right? Next up is restarting the TTR server

Re: Round 1: Wellington 20th May
I haven't done any practice but should be there tonight (installing now ...). Probably won't be competitive tonight, has been a couple of months since I had the wheel out, and new track for me. But know all the other tracks (including Wigram from GPL days).
Have used TCL before, 635, but want to try a different car so have signed up in SLS for the Rover, will be racing this or the Alfa.

Sweet stuff vandem, look forward to seeing you there. Jump on for a couple of laps to get used to the barriers!
Here's the grid as it stands, per car. Obviously you can only drive one...
Qualy at 7:30 pm AEST / 9:30 pm NZ, get amongst it!

Webber, take me off the front row, that time was done in a Merc. The 88.3 was in the 635 which I intend on running tonight.
Cheers.

Re: Round 1: Wellington 20th May
Hard work, not the easiest track to restart sim racing on. Got down to steady 34-35s but damaged the car and hard to keep the rear end under control. A few too many spins and I figured I was safer watching.

Re: Round 1: Wellington 20th May
Nice work vandem, for your first race it was a difficult track and you were doing quite well in the alfa. Good to have someone with high standards. In fact everyone tonight had high standards.
My rFactor crashed at the end, and we were fraught with a couple of difficulties, but I had a few crackers of battles with Peter308, Billy Bob, and the frontrunners.
Good to see dan_gtsx back and putting another Rolla through its paces.
Well done to Mozza and racer69, looked like a catastrophically epic race-long battle for 1st!!
The alfa was a little disappointing... It was not too slow, and started to come back to the others towards the end of their stints, but not enough to make up for the driver who had reshaped the poor sucker many times on the barriers. A pitstop for a flat tyre put paid to any hopes of a podium. I'll stick with it, and see what can be done...
Can't wait to hear from mozza and racer

Re: Round 1: Wellington 20th May
Too kind, my driving was pretty crap. But I'm not fast, even with a few week's practice I think my best would be 32s in the Alfa at this track.

Re: Round 1: Wellington 20th May
Sorry guys,
I didn't get back home until late so assumed the second race had started.
I did get the Rover down to a 1.30 in practise but not too sure how the tyres would have lasted at x3.
Should be there for next week however.
