Nurburgring - Round 2

Ok I've been having a bit of drama with the track.
The version on the server and in the downloads is Nos Tourist 2.2a
I wanted to use this because of the trick where you don't have to do an outlap before starting a timed lap. But apparently that's not the case with 2.2a. Or can someone correct me on this?
I'm guessing it's actually 2.21 that has this trick.

My preference at this point is to leave it as is and live with the outlap but if lots of people say I've 2.21 and want to use it I'll change it.

But anyway, yay Nurburgring, there's nothing like the green hell.

hey just letting you know, if you go through the far right barrier as you leave pits you get a timed lap in both versions, you will have a timed lap on the first lap

Yeah that's what I was trying. From memory the lap starts just under the first bridge or whatever it is that you come to, a couple of hundred metres out of the pits. I tried it on the server and offline and the lap time doesn't start ticking over for me.

I'll happily change it to the later version if people want, I'm just a little hesitant in case people have been downloading the 2.2a version already. But I'll be happy for someone to prove me wrong on this version.

hey just went for a lap, and yea my 'outlap' was timed, online, dunno why it wouldnt be workin for you. only thing i can think of is wrong barrier but im sure your going through the right one...iuwwo

Well that's good to hear. At least I don't have to change the track on the server.
I just have to figure out what I'm doing wrong.
If you stop at the barrier there's a sign there that says something about start a timed lap here. That might just be a decoration though.
I'll have another try tonight.

o and yes, the sign that says 'start timed lap here' is correct follow the arrow and you should be fine

yep if you go back to the hm page and look in the left hand column under the live racers bit there are dropdowns 1 of which is for tuesday.you should find it there.im going online for a blast soon.

I can confirm this was the problem.

Note to anyone new to this track.

If you wait till the session starts and you use the right most gate on the left side of the building at the pit exit your 1st lap will be timed which is totally awesome compared to having to do a 7 or 8 minute outlap.

Ok I've just setup this series in SLS.
Please go there and register so you can receive points.
The name is "DRM 1980 Series"

Oh and the grid will be decided by practice which will run till 8.15 pm AEST.
Note if you're in the middle of a lap at 8.15 you'll be cut off.
The race will start immediately after this. i.e. I'll do the grid and then start the race straight afterwards.

Pretty sure it's AEST. It's pretty much the usual time that we start race1.

I've got v2.2 and can't get in.

Sorry David, if you were trying about the time you posted, we were probably still racing in race1. If this is about the time you can make it on next week, I'll keep an eye out for you.
