Porsche GT3 Round 8 Canberra

Round 8 held at Canberra on 24th July (track available from the dropbox on left)



Qualifying at 7:30pm TTR time (10 mins)

There will be a 10 min warmup (this may be bypassed if all drivers ready to race)

There will be 2 races, 1st race will be 15 minutes long, the 2nd race will be 30 minutes long.

Tyre wear set at x2
Fuel burn rate set at x3

might be a good idea for the people racing this week to do some practice, very difficult unforgiving track , i for one have never raced around here and finding it hard to put 2-3 laps together without hitting something

Good practice night last night. I'm losing most of my time in Sector 1 - kudos to the blokes that can get through there without bouncing off something.

If someone hits the tyres or wall in front, there's really no where to go, except a T-BONE !! lol

Pretty good turnout for a Thursday night with 10 cars. Surprising really because the circuit is an absolute shocker. Still fun though, but massively tight and twisty.

I managed 4th in both races, but I think it was from keeping the panels on it mainly. I lost the front splitter in both races though.

I only nailed two successful passes all night after harassing Fez in R2 for about 5 laps, right up his clacker. It was almost impossible to try and work out where I was going to have a crack, took a heap of patience, then I finally got him then immediately dropped it and had to catch up again.

Caught up again then Fez outbraked himself a bit coming into that ridiculously tight chicane 4 corners from the end of the lap and bounced off the walls and I t-boned him because I was pretty close behind.

Anyway from then on I was pretty happy with my race, got my fastest lap on the last lap with a fair bit of damage. Stayed on the lead lap this week, congrats to Jason, Stevo and Chris for the podium finishes.

Very happy with last nights races, 2 from 2 on track like that without hardly a scratch ( other then when Jake pulled in front on me and i ran into the back of him ) shows lots of practice was worth while, good job Stevo kept me looking in the mirror and the timer both races with a stella drive for 2nd place. Good to see 10 people racing be good to see this series out tho i will miss the race on 8th of August due to work .

Yeah, sorry about that one Jason. I was attempting to get off the racing line but I should have pulled over in an earlier section with more room like i did later, just glad it didn't cost you the race   

All good mate ,car was still good enough to do low "36's so it was still ok , no hard feelings these things happen i think we have all done it at some stage

yeah very easy track to get caught up with someone   lol

very much so lol, i'm much happier at Sandown already
