Awesome.
I'm in for this one. I'm doing a Murph from 2010. Only difference is this year I've got more experience.

Re: Pre Clipsal 500 Adelaide
Set the Server up last night I set it up on 5 x fuel and appears you get about 9 laps per tank so should force two stops. Also Tyres at x4 not sure if that is going to far. My aim is to make it interesting and create options for people not to make it a follow the leaded and all have to stop at the same time
Was thinking about last night and it might be better to set it at Fuel x 4 (giving est 11.5 laps of fuel based on my fuel usage for one flying lap) and tyres back to x 2
I would really like some feed back from people testing if this is suitable or should we make it a bit more interesting bring the fuel back so one of the stops is a smaller load giving people the opportunity to pit early and reverse stop.

Devil I'll join you, got the day off. I'll get on at about 12, 12:30.
Benny,
I was on last night, turned a few qualy and race sim laps, and I think the fuel and tyres are perfect as it is.
I wasn't driving conservatively and my setup is nowhere near the best with tyres, in fact they are a real weakness at the moment, but the tyres lasted 9 laps and were just becoming difficult to drive - that's the way you want it.
Fuel is spot on as well, having the big heavy cars forces a re-think of driving style and setup, will make for a really interesting race (and a hair-raising kink in the main straight )

Re: Pre Clipsal 500 Adelaide
Myself & devil felt the tyres going off way to quick, in fact for me the tyre's are suffering big time after 3 laps. Fuel i think if you can set it so you only need a short fuel stop at 1 of the stops will be perfect & if the tyre's hold on a bit better by bringing the tyres wear level back a bit you will be able to do a short stop & not need to take on tyres.Benny wrote:Set the Server up last night I set it up on 5 x fuel and appears you get about 9 laps per tank so should force two stops. Re: Pre Clipsal 500 Adelaide
yep is all good I average 9.8 litres per lap so I may just make it on one stop if I conserve fuel
So the question is do we want to throw this in the mix and if people can manage to get there car across the line on one stop and play the fuel game they can or do I put a formation lap in which will make it just about impossible and everyone will need the second lot of fuel

Re: Pre Clipsal 500 Adelaide
Benny is that 9.8 L based on Fuel X 4? What would you get with Fuel X 5? Or would that bugger the strategy & put it at about 8 Laps per tank giving you even pitstop, if so that buggers the strategy. So maybe do the formation Lap & make the race a Lap longer? Just an idea as i think 2 full fuel stops with tyres & 1 short stop & your choice if you want tyres.

Re: Pre Clipsal 500 Adelaide
That is fuel time x4 fuel x5 could only get about 9 laps but would probably have to stop at eight would be border line coming back around to make stop. So would be two stops for full loads of fuel
Fuel x 4 (11.5laps - 12laps) is One stop for a full load of fuel plus one stop for a dash of fuel. But if I conserve I can make it I if I took it out to 25laps Would be pretty hard to conserve that much.
Tyres are back to 2x giving people the chance to change them once as 4x I struggled from lap 7
If we run this way there are three options maybe more
1. First Stop at 10 - 11 and tyres second at around 20 for a small amount of fuel till the end
2. Reverse window First stop at around lap 4 to fill up and then longer stop at the end with fresh tyres for the run home
3. Conserve Fuel stop at 12 for full load and tyres and pray you make it home
But Really comes down to what sort of usage people are getting as I don't want to disavantage any one in the field so If people can give me some feedback of the usage you can PM if you don't want it common knowledge I will make a decision

Re: Pre Clipsal 500 Adelaide
Well I just had a run to test out pitstop times etc.
I made the 12 laps required but only just.
I started to have to drive the car pretty easy. If the weather were hotter or I had a spin, it would require a limp home style cruise to the pits.
So far I reckon my times are good (31.5 or so) for a 2 stopper.

Ok guys, I just remembered from my racing on another site 2 years ago that there is an issue when you drive down pit lane that sometimes it doesn't count your lap so you can go a lap down. Here is the fixed version that you will need once Benny has put it on the server.

Did some testing offline last night with 4x fuel and 2x tyres.
Gotta say the fuel burn with 4x is a killer. I can average about 10laps no matter how much I conserve. However I am happy with my tyre wear and it may surprise some of you.
Right back to the drawing board to try and learn to conserve fuel a bit.
Later.

Re: Pre Clipsal 500 Adelaide
Sorry Guys Started writing this this morning after I changed the main Screen for laps etc just been flat out all day
I have tested all ways of running the fuel loads. The idea originally was running two stops to make it interesting. We were also aiming for 2 stops one being a splash of fuel stop so people could try run one change of tyres.
5 x fuel didn't work you had to stop twice for full fuel and could change tyres everyone would be on the same stops. No what we were aiming for.
4 x Fuel looked promising catering for a few different options but the more I tested the more I found you could run easily on one stop which would leave everyone doing the same. No what we were aiming for either.
So I after long thoughts about it I decided to increase the laps to 28 which means no one can make it on single stop and the second load of fuel will be a little stop but not enough to change tyres with it and not loose time. This puts enables us to run what we were originally planning and people have options on when to take there stops and tyres.
Due to the increase in Laps the Nights Qual will come back to 10min Private session to try and keep the night on track.

Re: Pre Clipsal 500 Adelaide
Server is up and running with V8 factor Unleashed and the 2010 cars for the next couple of days.
Kiwi,
JD and myself had a run last night boy will sprint tyres close the
field up a bit. On v8 factor 1.3 I was a good second and half to two
seconds off Jd's times, last night after we had some time to get use to
to the mod we both had a crack at pole on sprints and this time the gap
was only .250
On controls I was quicker than previous versions and once again closed the gap to JD
With the new mod we will be able to throw in the sprint tyre as an option which will be great
This
weekends race at clipsal will be run as v8factor 1.3 as much as I would
love to run Unleashed I don't think it would be fair to people that
have spent all this time practicing fuel etc, I also need to find away
of setting the server up with class packages so everyone is on the same
tyre and fuel tank sizes if anyone has info about this please let me
know.
So unless there is 100 percent call from members to run this
round under the unleashed version we will run the 1.3 version and switch
over at Melbourne gp

Cool, I like it already. I actually downloaded it last night, I installed the base install and found I couldn't access the cars, did I need the skins pack first?
I've downloaded one but haven't installed yet. It was getting a bit late when I did this. I'll sort it out tonight before tcl.
Good luck by the way. I think you're beemer has the edge but the skyline isn't too shabby at oran park. but I do have a lot of points to make up.

Thanks mate you too I you get near me down that straight I'll be struggling as I have pace on skyline around the back Half but not always the easiest spot to pass
You need to download the base pack and then the cars. Currently only 2010 cars are available and you can get them in one all in one download which there are two options or you can get them in 3 parts

Re: Pre Clipsal 500 Adelaide
Thought about the Weekends race Yesterday and last night and discussed with JD. And i think it better if we will run the clipsal round with V8factor 1.3. The Main reason for this is that I don't have time to test fuel tyre life etc to make sure the round would run as planned. We wanted this round to run as two stops with one being a splash of fuel. The second reason is that unleashed with 2010 skins automatical chooses Upgrades the fuel tank is 75 lt and will be luckly to get 9 laps out of the car control tyres only and hitting the limiter before turn 8.
With Unleashed in Original testing on monday night the sprints were fantastic really closing up the field but to make this work we have to change our V8 unleashed mod by editing or deleting the trackconfigv8.ini file or change the track name so it doesn't auto choose the track options. The changing the track name in the adelaide_GP.gdb would be the better way to go but would like time to work out how to do this while leaving the original track in place so we can use other leagues standard versions of the track.
I'm more than happy to run Unleashed on the weekend infact could think of nothing better and if members would prefer to run this version I would need some help for this to happen. As friday night is my next available night to test which is way to late notice. If someone is happy and available to run fuel testing (need to know how many laps out of 120lt tank) and sprint and control tyre life testing (when do the sprints drop off back to Control pace and then when do they drop bellow so we can look at one set of sprint tyres being available for the night). To test you will need to run in the community version not 2010 skins where the sprint tyres and 120l tanks are available.
Finally for this to happen I would have to make a change to the adelaide track changing it's name to TTR adelaide so we can run with upgrades enabled if anyone knows how to add a track to the current version be much appreicated as at the moment I can only find a way of changing the name with Adelaide GP.gdb file to TTR Adelaide lets us run the uprgrades we want.

Hi guys.
I wont be racing tonight. I've just had minor knee surgery and I am not allowed to do any driving or anything until Thursday.
I will be there for the Melbourne GP race but I may not be racing. I'll just have to see how it goes.
I'm looking forward to taking on you all in the new ORSM mod for the Melbourne GP event. I've cracked the 1:28's at Adelaide on controls. That was on Thursday after work with an experimental setup.
