Pre Sandown enduro (53 laps) - September 9
The next round of the ATCC series is at Sandown, for the traditional Bathurst leadup event.
Race will be 53 laps, or one third the real distance, as all other events this year have been.
TYRES - x3
FUEL - x3
QUALIFYING - 7:30pm
IMPORTANT:- The BMW M3 Evo is able to be used from this event onwards. http://ttrracing.com/admin/mods/ATCC91,92+93.rar and anyone is free to run the car. Anyone with the all in one pack won't need this but if you don't have it
your will need http://www.ttrracing.com/admin/mods/dtm90.rar as well which had the base files for the M3 Evo
Been some very good racing this series, and will be interesting to see how it plays out over a race distance with pitstops & strategy.
The last time we did a Sandown 500 was last year in the '1988 ATCC' series, the results were;
As a warm-up to our race, here is the 1989 Sandown 500;

Merc will be lucky to get a top 10 after last nights' crowd!

Should be a good one, the race with the 88 cars was my first. I think I had the idea of doing a 1 stopper but I couldn't make it work in the Commodore.

The only rule is that you can't change back to the previous car

I think there are some files missing for the evo as it does not come up in the game.
HDVehicle=M3evo_90.hdv ?

If I remember right, m3 EVO will destroy the merc. Top speed is equivalent to the skyline and in the draft it can follow a twr and get it in the corners. Will be good with group' driving it!

Not easy to Drive though it changes the stability of the car a heap and only has medium tyres available as it's hardest compound

Of all the TCL cars for me the EVO is the hardest to drive, but with time i think its going to be a potent weapon. Just gotta spend more time with it and massage out that oversteer haha

Yeh I was able to get decent times out of.it groupC, but I'm incredibly hard on tyres so i couldn't make a decent go of it for the v8 vs Tcl race. You're a better steerer than me so you'll do it justice!

Yeah, if i remember rightly, i think the rule was you could swap cars, but never swap back to the one you left, and the first time you used the new car you didn't score points.
I generally, no matter the series or rules, like picking the one car and getting familiar with it over a season, especially as due to work these days i don't get much time other than Sunday's to jump on and have a proper practice.
I think the M3 Evo could be a proper darkhorse at Bathurst (assuming its tyre wear & fuel wear is still similiar to the normal M3?), it will make alot of time across the top and not lose as much on the straights, will make a very interesting race there.

I love the M3, but struggle with the M3 Evo, for some reason, it seems a very twitchy nervous beast.

I agree DP... I haven't cut many laps in it... But from what i did it is very nervous and quite taily.
As i haven't run much of the championship i have nothing to lose so its the EVO for me... As Racer said it could be a mighty weapon around Bathurst.

Re: Pre Sandown enduro (53 laps) - September 9
Did some practice last night Tried out the Evo M3 but just couldn't tame it so back in the merc for me.
I'm off the pace badly in the merc only managed to finally get into the high 15's on my last lap of the night but could consistently lap in the low 16's in race trim. But getting great tyre life probably due to lack of speed

From memory I had the Evo doing low 13s last week.
Would of driven the Evo for sure if it was available at the start of the championship.
