My avatar is a picture of my car at Oran Park in 1987 for the final round of the ATCC. We've just finshed a 3-1/2 year resto of the car to that spec and livery. I'm at work now, so i can't share any pics, but I'll upload some pics from home.
You can see the car in the flesh at Morgan Park on July 30/31 or Lakeside on August 13/14 or at Eastern Creek Muscle Car Masters in September. I might go to Sandown in November for the Historics and I'm keen to do Phillip Island Classic again next year.

I will be driving the #18 Shell Ultra Sierra, alongside Webber in the #17.
just to add, Steve Crossland noted earlier in the thread he will be running, in the Caltex Sierra.

Re: Car Selections
Like mozza said, im gonna compete in the Bathurst Mercedes #51, (but due to a double up with a Corrolla, i made it #31 on the Registration site.)
** Why did i pick the Merc? Ive done some testing in it at Silverstone and a couple other tracks, and i liked how it handled itself.
I wanna be a little more competitive next season, and although the Mercedes is 20kg heavier, i like how it goes.
Its fast when it needs to be on the straights and windy parts, and handles just as well as the M3. And brakes a little quicker i think.
I was tossing up wether to get a Sierra or not, but i dont think im at that stage yet, if there is another season after the '88 is complete. I might jump up to the sierra.
It just feelis like im cheating by getting into a faster car and doing lap times in that that i should be doing in a Class 2 car. Id rather come first ( ) in Class 2, than last in Class 1.
I decided against the Skyline, cos, well basically the same reason as above, and i heard the tyres suck on it. So yeah. Thats my story and im sticking to it.
P.S - However, now that ive picked the Merc, is that it? Can i reconsider before the season starts? Is there a cut off date?
Thanks.
(sorry M3, you have been good to me. but i feel it is time to move on. we may meet again.)

Re: Car Selections
Sorry for double post.
Just incase you are having trouble with entering your car selection:
Once you have signed up and activated your account.
Go to the "Drivers" tab at the top of the screen.
In that tab, click "Edit Data".
Once you have confirmed that all your "General" info is correct.
Click the "Seasons" option.
Then click the "edit" button next to the Atcc88 field.
You will then be able to select your class, car, racing name, and car number.
Click "save" when you're done.
If this helped 1 person, it was a success.

Yikes.
Its gonna be quiet in class2 cars this season. Especially considering the EXTRA SEVENTY EIGHT KW of the RS's.

I hope you're right Mozza. I hope yur right.
CMON! Theres plenty of M3's left people. And remember,(i've been told) you CAN WIN in an M3.

I'm looking forward to harassing these Sierras & Commodores in my M3!!
Remember Shayn that alot if these Aussie tracks are short and tight compared to the tracks we've been running in the WTCC, tracks like Amaroo, Lakeside, Winton, Barbagallo will lend themselves to the M3 and Merc!! Tyre wear will be even more apparent with more HP, the little cars will be in the mix I'm sure!

Re: Car Selections
There is Currently 17 Registered Drivers with SLS Plus Wobblyone Has Said about merc in the Car selections but no car choice or or reg in sls as yet. Pretty Sure Wally said cap is 20 If it reaches this I will be there when there is a spot on the night available as Sundays are difficult for me to run.
So basicly 3 Spots left which included me stepping out to make room up for grabs for the next Series Remember first in best dressed Over 20 people will be able to run if there is a spare slot on the night.

Just out of interest, what would it take to be able to bump the server up to, say, 24 slots. I'd hate for you to miss out Benny... or anyone for that matter. If the support is there for a bigger field, I'm all for running it.
Sorry, but I've no idea about servers etc. I'm flat out just trying to figure out how to drive!

Re: Car Selections
Hey Mozza Have had a Dicussion with wally today and we both agree the cap is 20 people at the meets.
The Server costs Are about $30.00 USD for the 20 slot and $20.00 USD for the 14 Slot. So a total of $50.00 USD Per month. to add to this wally was supplying the practice US based server at about $12.00per month which he has now purchased the primary Target Server at around the $30.00 per month to try and fix the people getting kicked problem. There are cheapones out of america but the we have tried them and is not suitable for racing with the pings way to high.
For Those That Have recentlly asked about Contributing to the Server Costs On the Main Page of the Forum there is a Donations Button At the Bottom.

Does it matter that my nickname is elgibo on the sls and on rfactor its Dave Gibson? I really wasn't sure which to put down. Can you change your name without losing your racing history?
Re: Car Selections
Hey dave you Need to put your rfactor name as your username with lower case and upper cases as they are in the game
I'm not sure what happens if you change your nick name if it keeps your history but I assume it would keep it

I think if you go into the rfactor folder, then into Userdata folder, change the name of your player folder to eligibo, and then in that folder change the name of your plr file to elgibo.. I'm pretty sure that works.
Either that or change your name in sls to Dave Gibson

Re: Car Selections
Great news guys.
Due to the overwhelming support from you guys helping out with the server, next time the server get's renewed it will jump to 25 slot.
Also, the Dallas based server will survive another month, This will give Kwik-Kiwi a chance to play around and learn how to set the servers without disrupting the other servers TTR has.
I was totally surprised by all of this and am quite touched by your support..
Unfortunately, tommorrow is the day I intend to update here the registrations for 88atcc but along with some housework that needs to be done for an inspection on Friday it now seems I have a doctor's appointment tommorrow..
Will endeavour to catch up asap.
