Obviously, first of all bad luck to the disconnected people that didnt get a chance to finish. Must be hell.

Qualifying

As soon as i got out on track with 14 other cars, my graphics card said, nuh uh, im not doing this, and proceeded to stutter and jump all over the place.
So i had to go out and drop all the settings so i could get any kind of decent time.
On the last lap i got a 55.157? i think, which had me in 5th, infront of an RS! Yey.
Well done to Racer on the 53. Awesome.

Race

Got a great start and almost ran into Webber, so had to go around which lost me 5th and the Peanut-mobile got by.
I ran wide on the second lap in T1 unsurprisingly, letting Berlsy get through and placing me in 6th as Dan had D/c. Great, chasing Berls again, only thing missing was GrpC hounding me in the M3. But Peter308 was there in his BMW keeping me honest.

By lap 20 Berlsy had opened up a huge gap to me as he always does, he must've been around 6 seconds away by then. I had caught up to and lapped Peter308 and Benny who must've had an incident somewhere. I got by them but Peter308 was determined to stay with me, passing me back a couple times, causing me to have a couple heart failures.
I must say, what the M3 lacks in raw power, it makes up for in handling and grip, if GrpCA had've raced, the top 3 would look a lot different.

On lap 28, havingbeen lapped by that super fast Racer69, i out-braked myself in turn one and locked it up and ended bogged in the sand. Took ages to bunny hop out of the dirt and by this time Berlsy must have lapped me cause he came into the pits behind me.

Pitted on lap 31 and swapped from VHards to Hards in the hope of making up some time. God i hate sitting there waiting, waiting, waiting.
Ten laps later i caught up an 18 second gap to TTR Benny in the Commo, and taking back 5th spot.

Around lap 50 Berlsy must've gotten bored so he decided to slow down and wait for me to catch up, and we had some fun racing to the end of the race seeing as though he was one lap ahead of me lol. During which time he took a spot from webber who had an issue somewhere.

Very happy with 4th place, although only 8 cars finished the race. But ill take it. I think its my best finish so far. You weren't far wrong Wally, i nearly made the podium.
Blardy Berlsy. tongue

Thanks to Wally for the advice during practice, it definitely helped me out during the race. My times werent as consistent but i drove much better due to practice.

And thanks to anybody who just read all that. You have way too much time. lol.

P.s Just want to say congrats to all the racers in this league, the racing is very fair and people are always mindful of other drivers and very apologetic when something does go wrong. Makes it so much nicer to compete when every one is on the same page.

Well done shayn... nice finish!. Bad luck Dan.. i saw you disappear about 8 laps before me. Hope Wal got thru at least. That was going to be a good race my setup was kind to the tyres and was confident of doing 55's all race long (errors aside). Awsome little track. Congratulations to the winner and podium finishers... i need to see the results as i dont know who finished where... 'cept for me old mate shayn.

I did attempt to make up for my dissapointment by running a couple of EA Outlaws quick races.. but its just not the same.. so thanks TTR for a truly awsome league.

Well I jumped on yesterday around 5.40pm to do some practice. Hadn't touch the car all week. Practiced for about 25 minutes, jumped off for tea then jumped back on with about 10 minutes practice left. Qual in front of Wally, so I was pleased with that.

My plan for the race was to stay in front of Wally and David. (sorry guys) Got an ok start and yes got in front of Wally and David. Hit the side and front of my car at the finish line on lap 6, the game told me to pit but I checked the damage and figured I could keep racing on. Didn't want to pit so soon and let Wally and David get past me. I was slower on the laps when being blue flagged than Wally and could see him catching up so as soon as faster drivers got past me, I put some more distance between myself and Wally.

Then bad luck, Wally's computer crashed. What a shame. Razz

I finally pitted on lap 28 but didn't relise where the start of the pits was and got a drive thru for speeding in the pits. After doing the drive thru came out to find David in front of me. Caught up and passed David, this is something new to me. I don't usually overtake other drivers. Was happy with how I was driving, made a few minor errors but managed to lap David. When David pitted I went pass to lap him by 2. I was stoked. (sorry David if that sounds bad, but I am so used to being last that this was exciting for me)

With a numb bum, sore back and having to deal with hot flushes while driving (I should get extra points for that) I finished 7th out of 14 due to all the drop outs, I am really pleased with my race. Very Happy

PS. With Wally's computer crashing I have gained a lounge chair passanger. He sits on the lounge next to my computer and tells me, you went too fast around that corner, don't slow down go flat out, brake earlier, that type of thing. Well dear, thank-you, this has helped my driving. I love you

I get really nervous when other drivers are lapping me and I use to get really nervous just having Wally standing in the same room while I was driving. Having him in the room now while I am racing has helped me to get use to it and has helped me to lose some of the nerves. Thanks. (but fix your computer)

Wasn't planning on running but time worked out during the afternoon that I could atleast run some of the race.

6 laps before qual was my entire practice and was struggling qualified pretty badly

Warmup bolted on Hards and fuel damm it went a second quicker first lap Post Adelaide int 192488

My plan was run till was empty and then short fill softs and run the last 15 mins it was all going well tyres were great could have easily run the full distance on them but ran out of fuel ( I guess at the pace I was running anyone could have made them last) watched people stop around me at the 30 min mark my pace was still the same at the start of the race saw no reason to change my plan plus was running 3rd at the time. After the stops had made a couple of places as well as gaining from others misfortunes had was running 6th. Just after the Stop car felt great with fresh softs and was starting to gain quickly the car in front but then Wife got home with 12 mins to go and as you know I can only run Sundays till she arrives at home so had to pull out.

Had a good time enjoyed myself but really need to spend more time in these cars to be competive with you guys.

Wally, if your computer isn't back in business by next weekend, i don't think anyone would mind postponing the race so you can compete.

The other two things to figure out for next weekend is that Daylight Savings kicks on the Saturday night, and the NRL Grand Final is on the sunday night as its the long weekend (it is in NSW anyway, not sure about elsewhere)

As for my race, i wasn't really comfortable around the track to begin with, the off-camber entry to the bowl in particular is very awkward, but after a while i settled in was able to set competitive laps, putting myself on pole.

The results don't show it but it was a really tough race, i had Webber on my tail for almost the entire race, and i couldn't make the slightest error if i wanted to stay infront. Was a shame you had your troubles at the end there Webber, would have been a close finish Smile Dan was up there for the first 2 laps as well, you would have been right in the mix mate!

A really great job by everyone in that race, everyone driving very fair and with their heads Smile

A shame about the 6 dropouts.... i can't help thinking that there may have been something to do with the track that could have caused the dropouts, it seemed like there were some funny bits about it.

wasn't sure about this track at first but after i got used to it had bloody ball

qualified 7th i think, pretty happy with that although i did beat my qualifying time in the race

race - bogged down off the start but managed to hold my position into turn 1. passed shayn on the second lap when he ran wide at turn 1. had shayn hounding my rear end for the next 5 or so laps but then slowly started to edge away. had a brief battle with kdrspaz and managed to get passed when he ran wide but then he just drove passed me going down the front straight. from then on i just watched the sierras drive off into the distance. pretty much drove around for the rest of the race by myself. the guys in front of me were a lap ahead and shayn was a lap down so i backed off a bit and let shayn catch up so we could have a bit of fun towards the end. had a ball racing with you shayn, hopefully we can do it at lakeside next weekend but with a bit of luck it will be for position this time.

No worries Billy, I think I had braked a bit harder to avoid Dan who went across the grass anyway, all part of the fun

Had a great fun race keeping Racer somewhat honest, could never get in front of him though. The track was quite awkward with traffic everywhere.

Near the end I was pushing very hard to catch him and the rear stepped out along the back straight. The car slowly spun and I hit a wall, flattening a tyre.

Then I foolishly replaced the front tyres with softs (leaving very worn very hards on the back). The balance was hilarious, and to add to the fun, the crash earlier had knocked the steering out of whack. Made for a very taily and spin happy Sierra and I was lucky to get 3rd!

Another +1 for Shayn's reports (and everyone else's for that matter)

I for one appreciate the reports. Lol. I read the reports every week, so yeah. Am itching to get back behind the g25 and have a run but I'm not liking my chances, unfortunately.

Series sounds like its travelling well. Well done to all concerned.

G'day All,

Great to read your race reports.

I've only competed in a few races, but I'm really enjoying racing with TTR. Everybody is very fair, and quick to apologize when things go wrong.

I had a fairly good race. Managed to stay out of the way of the quicker cars, and only ran off the road twice! Good times.

Very happy to finish sixth, but also felt bad for the guys who dropped out.

The two week break would suit me perfectly, will be around this Sunday, but will still be at Bathurst the following one. Anyone else headed up?

Take care all,

Damo
