Re: Post Melbourne
I have to say that last night has to be the MOST successful racing I have had in a looooooooooong time. Since my second placing at the Gold Coast race in the V8 Supercars last year anyway.
In practice I was pretty happy with my times. With sweet fa practice/racing this mod for over 2 years I was on the pace within 9 laps with a setup Dano graciously shared with us all. I set a decent 2:02.9402 and was extremely happy with that pace. I wasn't that far off Benny's best time either. Only .6 between our fastest times.
Qualifying was an excellent time for me. I got my first ever online pole position. I went out and did 2 laps. After that I made too many mistakes and couldn't get it together enough to get another decent lap in. I did a 2:03.2051 almost .52 ahead of Dano.
Race 1 was abysmal except for the first half of the race. No idea why there was a restart but there was. On the restart I got a better jump than the original and drove away to a 10sec lead. That's when things went south in a huge way. Having used the car so much to run away in the lead I had over heated my rear tyres and they were locking all the time. On lap 7 when this happened I got passed by Benny after one of my incidents and he drive into oblivion when his wheel died on him (my condolences mate. You were quick). Got the lead back and proceeded to spin again. Shano got into the lead and I tried to catch him again. I would have when he hit a stationary car at the chicane after the long left sweeper (what happened there Webber???) but I made a massive mistake and let him off the hook. Had Dano Catching mefor the last lap or so but managed to finish second. Well done to Shano in that race and Dano for third.
Race 2 was a start to finish run for me. Shano opted to start last and that was to be a good call. He was very quickly to second and no matter how much I tried to drive away I just could not get a gap over 2 seconds. I backed off a bit to conserve tyres a bit more than the last race but he was catching me. About the 10min mark he was getting close. At the 5 min mark I made a small mistake coming onto the long left sweeper and he got an outside run for the chicane. All I saw was him do in the mirror was achieve lift off at the chicane after the sweeper (I think he tried going inside me wayyy too much). Held Benny off the last few laps to win.
Congrats to all who turned up and thank you for a good nights racing.

Re: Post Melbourne
A little bit late but here we go
Had never run these cars and Dano and Shano were both kind enough to share the setups with everyone thanks guys,
Managed a really quick time in practice in 2m02.3 but couldn't repeat this in qual and started from third.
Race 1
Had a bad start and dodged a spining Webber I think turn one or turn two and got going webber called for restart which was all good and second race got a cracking start into second. Early on had webber chasing me a was watching the mirrors more than driving and made a couple of mistakes and let him through while loosing time to Devil who was flying. A lap or so later webber spun and I kept lapping looking after my tyres which I knew was a must. I managed to run some great laps in the process of chasing Devil down and got past as he spun and found myself with 17 sec lead and was looking great.
Then Heading down the main straight my wheel went. I have had this happen a couple of times in the past but luckly never in a race till now, the problem when It happens goes full right lock and full throttle. Luckly no one was around me as it a waiting for to hit something hard enough so you can escape is the hard bit
Race 2
Starting from the back great start into third, kris was flying and I followed him around the first lap. Coming to on to the back straight got a great run and Kris took the defensive line was planing to go back on the lead into the next corner as he would have run wide out of this turn. As Kris hit the Corner the back started coming around as I was turning in to go under him and I gave Kris a tap. Was unsure if he would have gone all the way around without my tap so stopped and let him through. So coming form last 13 secs of Devil out front. I drove a really strong race with consistant laps the whole way got though on wally into turn one and got past Dano and kris as they spun. I chased as hard as i could while looking after tyres to make sure I could fight if I got to devil which wasn't looking good till about 4 mins to go the gap started dropping as devils tyres must have gone off and I got with 2 seconds setting the fastest lap of the race on the last lap.
Great night I really enjoyed it cars took a while to get use to Dano You did fantastic Job . Once I worked out you have to really have all your speed washed off before you even think about turning in had the car flying.
Will probably struggled As I'm not a F1 sim fan mostof remaining tracks have never turned a lap at

Re: Post Melbourne
Cheers Benny.
Next up is Montreal ! It's a cool track, trust me. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
And the others are cool too. The only one I don't like is China but that's probably because it's the one I have the least experience at.
